A lot of buyers delay the first mortgage conversation because they’re worried a credit check will lower their score.

A soft credit pull is a check on your credit report that does not impact your credit score since it is not for the purpose of approving a credit application. It gives you valuable insight into the type of home loan you can qualify for without having to make an application which would require a hard credit pull (which can affect your credit score as it is used for approving an application for credit).
