First Federal Savings & Loan Association was federally chartered in January of 1935, making us the oldest Financial Institution in the Shoals. First Federal grew in the tradition of the building and loan association and served the savings and loan needs of our area

for 60 years. On June 10, 1995, First Federal Savings & Loan changed its savings and loan charter to a state commercial bank charter and our new name became FIRST SOUTHERN BANK. Today, First Southern Bank provides full service banking to individuals, families and businesses through our five offices in Lauderdale and Colbert counties of Alabama. In March of 2008, our Main Office location was moved from our 35+ year home at 102 S. Court Street. First Southern Bank - Our commitment continues. . .one customer at a time.

Erica has been with FSB since February 2025 as our Branch Support Manager. In this role, Erica manages our Main Branch, drives continuous improvements within our retail banking business, and provides leadership, coaching, and support to all branches in areas of compliance, service, and quality control. Erica was recently accepted to the Alabama Bankers Association's Leadership, Excellence, and Development program! 🎉

Throughout the month of July, our Shoals branches worked together to gather clothing donations for United Way of North Alabama's Dress for Success Closet! 📦👏

The Dress for Success Clothing Closet is a referral-based program providing free professional and work-related clothing to help individuals prepare for employment and other important opportunities! 🤩

What an honor to be a part of the Lauderdale County Innovation Center Grand Opening. 👏 This facility will serve not only the students, but our community as a whole. Thank you to the Lauderdale County Board of Education for your continuous work and dedication to students in the Shoals area. We are so grateful to partner with you in this effort!
