For the past couple of weeks, I've intentionally stepped away from LinkedIn.

Not because I didn't have anything to say, but because I wanted to spend some time reflecting.

As I thought about the incredible advisors already on our team and the outstanding people who have chosen to join us so far this year, one thing became crystal clear:

They all share one common trait.

A genuine desire to help people.

Not to sell products.
Not to chase titles.
Not to build the biggest book of business.

They are driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone else's life.

The technical knowledge can be learned.
The strategies can be taught.
The licenses can be earned.

But a heart for serving others? That's much harder to teach.

I've been fortunate to watch people from all kinds of backgrounds step into this profession and thrive—not because they had decades of financial experience, but because they cared deeply about helping families make wise financial decisions.

That has reminded me why I love what I do.

Helping people discover a career where success isn't measured only by what you earn, but by the impact you make.

Choosing a financial advisor isn't about finding someone who can pick the best investment. It's about finding someone you can trust with your future.

Here are a few things I believe everyone should look for:

âś… Someone who listens more than they talk.

Your financial plan should be built around your goals, not their agenda.

âś… Someone who educates instead of intimidates.

You should leave every meeting understanding your options, not feeling overwhelmed.

âś… Someone who asks great questions.

The best advisors don't start with products. They start with people.

âś… Someone who is proactive.

You shouldn't only hear from your advisor when markets are volatile or paperwork needs to be signed.

✅ Someone who tells you what you need to hear—not just what you want to hear.

The best advice isn't always the easiest advice.

Finally, ask yourself one simple question:

"If my life changed tomorrow, would this person be someone I'd want sitting across the table from me helping me make important decisions?"

If the answer is yes, you've likely found more than an advisor—you've found a trusted partner.
