🚨 Medicare could be charging you MORE than your neighbor... even if you have the exact same coverage.

Most retirees don't realize Medicare has something called a surcharge that can significantly increase the cost of Part B and Part D premiums.

In some cases, married couples can pay thousands of dollars more per year simply because of their income.

The surprising part?

Many people don't find out until after the extra charges appear.

This Medicare surcharge is called IRMAA, and understanding how it works could help you avoid unexpected costs and make more informed retirement income decisions.

🦷 TRUE OR FALSE?

Medicare covers routine dental care.

Take a guess before reading further.

⬇️

⬇️

⬇️

The answer is...

**FALSE.**

This is one of the biggest surprises many people encounter after enrolling in Medicare.

Many retirees assume routine dental exams, cleanings, fillings, dentures, and other common dental services are automatically covered.

Unfortunately, that's often not the case under Original Medicare.

The result?

Unexpected out-of-pocket costs that many people never planned for.

After helping Colorado retirees navigate Medicare for more than 30 years, I've learned that some of the most expensive healthcare surprises aren't the major medical events.

They're the benefits people thought they already had.

πŸ’‘ Did you know?

Two people can have Medicare and end up paying very different amounts.

And many retirees have no idea why.

Most people assume Medicare costs are the same for everyone.

The reality is there are several factors that can impact what you pay, and some of them catch people completely off guard.

That's one reason why reviewing your coverage periodically is so important.

Not because you necessarily need to make changes.

But because understanding *why* you're paying what you're paying is often just as important as understanding what you're covered for.

After helping Colorado Medicare beneficiaries for more than 30 years, I've learned that the most expensive surprises are usually the ones people never knew to ask about.

🏁 RACE DAY AT THUNDER VALLEY! πŸοΈπŸ’¨

https://youtube.com/shorts/bIC99lWHUUc

There's just something about race day.

The smell of race fuel in the air.

The sound of bikes launching off the gate.

The excitement of watching some of the best riders in the world push themselves to the limit.

And for me, getting to experience it alongside my boys makes it even better.

I've been looking forward to this weekend all year. Not only because I love motocross, but because events like this bring together families, friends, competitors, volunteers, and fans from all over the country.

Today, thousands of people will gather at Thunder Valley for one reason:

To witness greatness on two wheels.

A huge thank you to everyone who makes this event possible, from the riders and crews to the volunteers and organizers who work tirelessly behind the scenes.

If you're out at Thunder Valley today, enjoy every minute of it.

Who are you rooting for? πŸ†

Most people spend years preparing for retirement.

They calculate savings goals.
They estimate travel expenses.
They budget for hobbies.

But there's one expense that consistently catches people off guard.

Healthcare.

Not because they didn't plan.

Because healthcare costs don't always behave the way people expect them to.

I've met retirees who felt completely prepared financially until unexpected medical expenses started impacting their monthly budget.

The reality is that Medicare plays an important role, but understanding how your healthcare coverage fits into your overall retirement strategy may be just as important as your investment strategy.

After helping Colorado retirees for more than 30 years, I've found that some of the best retirement plans aren't necessarily the ones with the biggest nest eggs.

They're the ones with the fewest surprises.

What concerns you most about healthcare costs during retirement?

🏁 One of my favorite weekends of the year is here.

Many people know me as the Medicare guy, but outside of the office, one of my favorite things to do is spend time with my boys around dirt bikes and motocross.

That's why I look forward to volunteering at the Supercross Nationals at Thunder Valley every year.

There's just something special about seeing families come together, watching talented riders compete at the highest level, and supporting an event that's become such an important tradition here in Colorado.

This weekend isn't just about racing.

It's about community.

It's about families.

It's about making memories with the people who matter most.

If you're heading out to Thunder Valley this weekend, stop by and say hello. I'll be cheering on the riders, volunteering, and enjoying every minute of it with my boys.

Who's your pick to take home the win this weekend? πŸ†

Most people assume Medicare plans are priced the same everywhere.

They're not.

In fact, I've had conversations with people who were paying significantly more than someone else enrolled in the exact same type of coverage.

The surprising part?

Many never realized there were factors affecting their premium in the first place.

That's why reviewing your coverage isn't just about benefits.

It's also about making sure you're not paying more than necessary.

After helping Colorado Medicare beneficiaries for more than 30 years, I've learned that one of the most expensive phrases in healthcare is:

"I just kept what I had."

Sometimes that's the right decision.

Sometimes it isn't.

The key is knowing the difference.

Have you reviewed your Medicare coverage within the last 12 months?

"Summertime is always the best of what might be."

🚨 Most people think receiving their Medicare card means they're fully covered.

That's often where the confusion begins.

Every week, I speak with people who proudly pull out their Medicare card and tell me:

"I'm all set."

Then we discover they haven't reviewed:

βœ”οΈ Prescription drug coverage
βœ”οΈ Doctor networks
βœ”οΈ Out-of-pocket costs
βœ”οΈ Hospital coverage gaps
βœ”οΈ Dental, vision, or hearing benefits

The truth is your Medicare card simply gets you in the game.

The decisions you make afterward can have a significant impact on your healthcare costs and access to care.

I've spent more than 31 years helping Colorado seniors understand their options, and one of the biggest mistakes I see is assuming Medicare works like employer insurance.

It doesn't.

The good news?

Most coverage mistakes can be avoided with a simple review before they become expensive problems.

πŸ‘‰ If someone in your family is turning 65 this year, have they already reviewed their Medicare options?
