Inflation isn't making things easy for a lot of Americans. Here are three tips to reduce your car insurance payment without dropping coverage.
1) Change the primary insured on your policy-
Insurance companies rate on many factors such as your credit score, driving record, and insurance score. Your policy also lists a "primary" insured and a "co-applicant." If your co-applicant, such as a spouse, significant other, or relative has a better driving record or credit score, changing them to the "primary" may save you hundreds on your premium
2) Take a driver safety course-
If you have multiple traffic violations (or not), you can take a driver safety course and earn a discount on your auto insurance. They're roughly $100 for a 30-hour course, but can sometimes save you much more than that over the course of a few years. (it can also shave points from your driver's license)
3) Shop other insurance companies-
each company rates differently for different individuals, and you can always shop around and find a better company. Working with an insurance broker (like myself) can save you a lot of time when looking for the best rate.
