World Tree

World Tree An eco-timber investment that can offset your carbon footprint & positively impact our planet.

World Tree creates regenerative tree farming projects in North and Latin America in partnership with farmers and other landowners. Our programs are designed to create community, provide new revenue streams for farmers, rebuild the soil, help reverse global warming, and protect forests. World Tree provides free Empress Splendor trees (Paulownia elongata & fortunei), training, and support to farmers

. The farmers grow the trees on their land from sapling to harvest maturity, and World Tree harvests and sells the lumber. These programs are funded by impact-focused investors from around the world. World Tree currently has over 250 farmers in its programs, based in the United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Guatemala.

Spring is when you really see it.

The land coming back.
Trees pushing new growth.
Everything starting to move again.

It’s a reminder that regeneration is real.
Given time and care, things come back stronger.

That’s something worth being part of.

Counting trees used to mean a long walk, a clipboard, and hoping you didn’t lose track halfway through the field.

Now we let technology handle it.

By flying drones over the farm and capturing hundreds of overlapping images, we can build a detailed aerial map. Our computer vision software then identifies each Paulownia tree and maps exactly where it is.

Thousands of trees counted.

Zero clipboards required.

Now we will just have to find a new way to get our 10,000 steps in. 😊

We tend to prioritize what we feel connected to.

But in the middle of the day-to-day hustle and bustle, it’s easy to lose that connection.

Earth Day is a good reminder to slow down for a moment. Step outside. Feel the ground under your feet. Look up at the trees. Take a breath.

The more connected we are to the earth, the more we care for it.

People like to say Earth Day is every day. And that’s true.
But sometimes we all need a little nudge to pause and reconnect.

Today feels like a good day to do that.

When your team is spread across the Americas, most of your conversations happen through screens.

So when we get the chance to gather in person, it feels pretty special.
Handshakes instead of messages.

Real conversations. Shared meals. Stories from the field. Time to connect beyond the day-to-day work.

There’s just something different about being in the same place. You leave with a deeper understanding of the people behind the work and the places they care for.

Grateful for the time spent together.

Behind every farm is a family.

Parents putting in the work.

Kids growing up alongside the trees, learning the land little by little.

Over time those small moments add up to something bigger than just a harvest.

Join our team.

World Tree works with farmers across the Americas to grow Paulownia on regenerative farms that produce both environmental and economic value over time. As these farms mature and more lumber begins moving through our system, strong leadership in the supply chain becomes even more important.

We are hiring a Director of Lumber Supply Chain to oversee the path from harvest to finished lumber. This role works closely with farmers, sawmills, and partners to ensure Paulownia grown on our farms is processed and delivered efficiently and responsibly.

It is a role for someone who understands timber operations and wants to help build a supply chain that supports farmers, produces high quality wood, and helps move regenerative materials into the marketplace.

If this sounds like work you would care about, we invite you to learn more.

Full details about the role and how to apply can be found on our website:

Sometimes the most important things in life happen so gently that we barely notice them.

This weekend held two meaningful reminders for our planet —
🌳 International Day of Forests
💧 World Water Day

Forests and water sustain nearly all life on Earth. They regulate our climate, protect ecosystems, nourish soil, and support the countless species — including us — that rely on them every day.

And yet, because they are always there for us, it can be easy to take them for granted.

So today, we invite you to pause for a moment.
Listen to the rain.
Watch how water moves through the leaves.
Notice the life that surrounds it.

These quiet systems — forests, water, soil, and wildlife — work together in ways that sustain the world around us.

At World Tree, this connection is something we think about often. Our work planting and stewarding trees is rooted in the belief that responsible forestry can be part of a larger commitment to caring for the land and the natural systems that support it.

Days like these remind us that sustainability isn’t a single action — it’s an ongoing responsibility.

One that asks us to pay attention.
To appreciate what sustains us.
And to continue taking steps that help ensure forests and clean water remain part of our world for generations to come.
