14 years ago.
This week, 14 years ago, I walked into the insurance industry for the first time.
I had no idea that the girl in this picture was starting a career that would completely change the course of her life.
I didn’t stay in insurance because it was easy.
I stayed because somewhere along the way, I realized this career is about so much more than policies, premiums, deductibles and paperwork.
It’s about people.
It’s being the person someone calls after an accident when they’re scared and don’t know what to do.
It’s helping a first-time homeowner protect the place they worked so hard for.
It’s helping a business owner understand what they actually need to protect everything they’ve built.
It’s answering the questions people are sometimes too embarrassed to ask.
And honestly? I love that.
Over the years, I’ve learned the industry from different sides. I’ve been the employee. I’ve been the underwriter. I’ve worked behind the scenes. I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and most importantly, what people deserve from the person they trust with something this important.
That’s why I eventually made the decision to build something of my own.
Pacheco Insurance Group wasn’t born because I wanted to simply own an insurance agency.
It was born because I wanted to create the kind of agency I believe people deserve.
An agency where you’re not just a policy number.
Where you can ask questions without feeling stupid.
Where honesty matters more than making a sale.
Where experience actually means something.
Where I can sit across from someone and say, “Let’s figure this out together.”
Fourteen years later, I’m still here.
Still learning. Still growing. Still figuring things out. Still answering the phone.
But now, I get to do it on my terms.
And when I look at this picture, I don’t just see where I started.
I see the beginning of the reason I’m here today.
Here’s to 14 years in an industry I never expected to love this much and to whatever comes next.
