I doubt anyone who has lost their house is checking Facebook right now, but if you know someone who has lost their home or been evacuated tell them to call their insurance company.

Your homeowners or renters policy contains a loss of use coverage that will pay to put you up in a hotel (usually without deductible).

You can also get payment to help you buy essentials and help you with added expenses (sometimes you can get paid as early as next day). Be safe, we're all thinking about you.

Imagine this scenario:

🚗 You go to buy a used 2010 sedan
Do drive it off the lot you buy insurance from Geico or some other online quoting platform

💵 You look for the cheapest price for the auto insurance
The car itself is insured to the minimum, which you’re Ok with since it didn’t cost you much in the first place

But you buy the state minimum requirements for liability (usually $25k for bodily injury and $50k for physical damage) which is very common...

Also you don’t buy an umbrella policy 😳

😅 You’re satisfied because it’s the cheapest insurance you could find so you make the deal and drive the car off the lot
Unfortunately you hit a $500,000 Lamborghini on your way home 🤯 (it happens, more than you’d think)

You review your policy and see the insurance company will only give you $50k for physical damage 😱

You are now on the hook for $450,000 for someone else’s vehicle, not to mention damage to your vehicle, or any injuries anyone sustained 😰

Good luck getting quotes by yourself without asking for guidance from an insurance advisor.

Had you had proper limits and an umbrella, you wouldn’t have spent a dime of your own money.

For your own sake, please let a pro help you with your finances, you’re worth it!
