I see you, my Colorado Realtors!!

I never grew up thinking, "I want to work in mortgages someday."

Truthfully... I kind of stumbled into this career.

At first, it was simply an opportunity. A job. Something to learn.

But somewhere along the way, it became so much more.

I realized I wasn't just helping people get loans. I was helping them navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

I saw the relief on someone's face when they finally understood their options.

I saw families get the keys to their first home after believing it would never happen.

I saw that what people needed most wasn't another salesperson—they needed someone who would slow down, explain the process, tell them the truth, and help them make the best decision for their situation.

That's when this stopped being a job.

It became a way to serve people.

Looking back, I'm grateful I stumbled into this industry... because I can't imagine doing anything else.

I remember the moment I realized I didn’t want to spend my career trying to fit people into a bank’s box.

A client’s life is rarely that simple.

Sometimes the income is unconventional.
Sometimes credit has a few bruises.
Sometimes the right answer isn’t “no”… it’s “not yet, and here’s the plan.”

But when you’re limited to one lender’s products and guidelines, the conversation can end before the real problem-solving even begins.

That never sat right with me.

I didn’t want to recommend the only option available to me.

I wanted the freedom to look at the whole picture, compare different paths, and find the option that actually fit the person sitting in front of me.

That’s why I became a mortgage broker.

Not because every situation has an easy answer.
Because every person deserves an honest one.

Sometimes I can help someone move forward today.

Sometimes the most respectful thing I can do is slow the process down, explain what needs to change, and build a clear path toward “yes.”

That’s the kind of work I wanted to do.

Less pressure...more strategy.

Less fitting people into a process...more building a process around the person.

Because a mortgage is more than paperwork and numbers.

It’s part of someone’s foundation… and that deserves care.

There was a time when I thought being productive meant always moving.

Always checking the next box.
Always answering the next email.
Always thinking about what came next.

But I've learned that some of life's richest moments happen when you give yourself permission to slow down.

A quiet morning.
Coffee that doesn't get cold.
A walk with no destination.

Time with the people you love without watching the clock.

Those moments aren't distractions from a meaningful life... they are part of it.
I don't take days like that for granted.

Helping people buy a home means I get a front-row seat to one of the biggest milestones in their lives. It's a privilege to do work that matters. And it's just as much a privilege to have days that remind me why it matters in the first place.

Success isn't only measured by what we accomplish.

Sometimes it's measured by having the freedom to pause, breathe, and truly appreciate the life we've been building.

I hope you find a little space today to do exactly that. 🤍

My hope is that we continue to lead with courage, extend grace to one another, and remember that the strongest communities are built one neighbor, one family, and one act of kindness at a time.

Here's to 250 years of resilience, hope, and opportunity... and to building an even stronger foundation for the generations still to come.

Happy Birthday, America.

With gratitude,

Cory ❤️🤍💙

There's been a lot of talk lately about oil prices, inflation, mortgage rates, and whether buyers should keep waiting for "the perfect time."

Here's what I'm watching.

Oil prices have pulled back quite a bit from their recent highs, which is encouraging. But inflation tends to take longer to work its way through the system, and mortgage rates haven't responded the way many people hoped they would.

This week we'll get the latest PCE report—the inflation measure the Federal Reserve pays particularly close attention to. It's one of several pieces of data that will help shape future rate decisions.

What does that mean for buyers?

It means waiting for rates to drop may not be the strategy many people think it is.

Meanwhile, here's what I'm seeing on the ground:

🏡 Homes are still selling.

🏡 Serious buyers are still winning.

🏡 Seller concessions are still available in many situations.

🏡 Some buyers are negotiating below asking price.

In other words, opportunities still exist right now for buyers who are prepared and have a plan.

Does that mean everyone should buy today?

Absolutely not.

But I do believe everyone who is considering buying should understand their options before making a decision.

The best financial decisions aren't made from fear or wishful thinking.

They're made with clarity.

And that's exactly what we work to create together.

If you're wondering whether buying now, waiting, or creating a longer-term strategy makes the most sense for your situation, I'd be happy to help you run the numbers.

No pressure. Just clarity.
