Ferneding represent the fifth generation of the Ferneding family in Dayton, Ohio and currently own and operate the agency founded by John C. Ferneding died in 2002, yet his same values continue to be embraced by his sons:

From when Henry Ferneding emigrated to America in1832 from Oldenburg, Germany and later moved to Dayton, Ohio the Ferneding family has made significant contributions to the community. They were original benefactors to St. Mary’s Institute, which is now the University of Dayton, contributing founders of St. Joseph Orphanage, Cavalry Cemetery and Holy Trinity Church. They have also been integral members of the business community as founders of the City Brewing Company, Ferneding-Heymann Cigar Company, Fourth National Bank, The Union Safe and Deposit & Trust Company, the Dayton and Xenia Railway Company (now the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority), Handy Man Hardware (now ACE Hardware) and as a Vice-President of the Dayton Insurance Company. Henry’s son, Clement Ferneding, was the driving force to eliminate dangerous railroad crossings by elevating the railroad tracks within the city of Dayton. Clement’s son, Harry Ferneding, served as judge of the court of appeals for the State of Ohio. The Ferneding family has also proudly served its country. Harry Ferneding fought in the Spanish-American War as an officer with the U.S. Calvary and sons, John C. Ferneding fought in World War II both as Lieutenant Commanders in the Navy. We were there for you then and we are there for you now.
