🔥 Firefighters Answer the Call—No Matter the State Line

When Texas firefighters need help, the fire service community steps up.

Polk County Fire Rescue from Florida has deployed a brush truck crew to Palo Pinto County, Texas, to assist crews battling the 93,000-acre Ross Fire. Captain Matt Bailey and Firefighter/EMT Damian Smith are representing their department—and the state of Florida—through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact.

This is what the fire service is all about: mutual aid, teamwork, and answering the call when our communities need us most.

VFIS of Texas proudly recognizes the dedication and sacrifice of these firefighters and all the crews working on the Ross Fire. Leaving your home community, your families, and your normal duties to help protect others is the very definition of service.
