Every new Medicare beneficiary gets a completely free preventive visit in their first 12 months on Medicare. It is called the Welcome to Medicare visit and it costs you nothing out of pocket.

During the visit your doctor reviews your health history, checks your height weight and blood pressure, screens for depression, discusses preventive services you qualify for, and helps you build a personalized prevention plan going forward.

If you or someone you know recently turned 65 and started Medicare, call your doctor and schedule this visit before the window closes.

Just wanted to take a second and say thank you. πŸ™

When I started posting about Medicare I had no idea if anyone would actually watch. The response has been genuinely humbling and I'm happy if even one of these videos helped someone make a better decision.

Keep the questions and engagement coming.

What’s the difference between plan G and plan N?

They both have very similar coverage but with three differences β€” copays, excess charges, and price.

Plan N usually runs $40 to $50 less per month.

You will have small copays at doctor visits and you are exposed to excess charges.

The right plan depends on your health, how often you see doctors, and what state you are in.

If you are on a Medicare Advantage or Part D plan, keep an eye on your mail in September.

Your insurance company is required to send you an Annual Notice of Change before open enrollment starts. That letter tells you exactly what is changing on your plan for 2027 β€” premiums, copays, which drugs are covered, which doctors are still in network.

Read it before you throw it away.

If something changed that affects you, open enrollment starts October 15th. That is your window to make a switch before the new year.

Your Medicare broker does a lot more than sign you up for a plan.

πŸ”„ Shopping the market every year as your plan changes
πŸ“ž Answering your questions so you never have to sit on hold with the insurance company
πŸ’° Fighting overcharges on your behalf β€” our claims team saves clients over a million dollars every year
πŸ’Š Reviewing your prescriptions before every open enrollment
πŸ“¬ Alerting you to changes before they affect your Social Security check in January
πŸ₯ Helping coordinate care during a serious health event

And it costs you nothing. Brokers are paid by the carriers, not by you.

If you have questions about your current plan or want a free review heading into open enrollment, reach out directly.

What will happen to Medicare Advantage in 2027?

Carriers are pulling back. Benefits are shrinking. Costs are going up.

The math that made $0 premium plans with grocery cards and dental benefits possible is breaking down and the 2027 plan year is going to reflect that.

This is just my read on it and I hope I’m wrong. But based on what I am seeing, here is what I think Medicare Advantage looks like heading into next year.

What do you think? Drop it below. πŸ‘‡
