SAD NEWS FROM WORDEN

A 67-year-old Worden woman died after being struck by a pickup Monday evening on a rural road about 2 miles east of Worden, the Billings Gazette reports. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, she had gone to see what a man picking up road debris was doing and tried to flag down an approaching Dodge pickup with a large flashlight before she was hit, about 40 minutes after sunset. She died at St. Vincent’s, and the 40-year-old Huntley driver was not hurt. Alcohol and speed are suspected, and as of Tuesday morning no one had been booked into jail in connection with the crash.
