Between work, creating, and everything else on our plates, there’s always something that needs to get done. Taking a little time to put it all down and enjoy being together felt needed. 🤍 Grateful for these memories.

Behind every pretty product is a bag like this 🤦‍♀️

Sharing the messy side because learning something new comes with a few “well, that didn’t work” moments. This attempt didn’t make the cut, but we’re figuring it out together! 💕

Save this as your reminder to keep going even when it gets messy.

What memory would you put on yours?

25 years ago today, I was a sophomore in high school. I can still remember the confusion, the fear, and watching something unfold that, at that age, I couldn’t fully comprehend.

September 11, 2001 became one of those days that divided life into a “before” and an “after.”

Today, 25 years later, I remember the 2,977 lives that were taken far too soon. I remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, service members, and ordinary people who ran toward danger to help complete strangers. I remember the families whose lives were forever changed.

And I remember how, in the days that followed, our country came together. We mourned together. We prayed together. We helped one another. For a moment, differences seemed smaller and being there for each other mattered more.

A quarter of a century has passed, and an entire generation has grown up knowing 9/11 only through history books, photographs, and the stories we tell them. That makes remembering and teaching them why we remember even more important.

Today we honor those we lost, those who survived, those who responded, and those who carried the weight of that day long after the smoke cleared.

September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸
25 years later, we still remember.

Never forget. #911

🏡 SOLD! ❤️

Today was so much more than just another closing.

We officially closed on this beautiful home in Oakley for my amazing second daughter, Cordelia, and her awesome boyfriend, Angel. Watching Cordelia grow from a sweet 6-year-old little girl into the incredible woman she is today has been one of the greatest blessings in my life. I’ve been lucky enough to witness so many of her milestones, and being part of this one means more than words can express.

Helping families achieve homeownership is always rewarding, but helping someone who’s family makes it even more special. I’m so grateful that I was able to help with the financing while Lynda guided them through finding the perfect home. Together, we helped turn their dream into a reality.

Congratulations, Cordelia and Angel! Here’s to making lifelong memories, filling your home with love and laughter, and enjoying every moment of this exciting new chapter. I couldn’t be prouder of you both. ❤️🏡✨

Mortgage Market Update

If you’ve been waiting for rates to drop, the market has had other plans lately.

Recent jobs reports, stubborn inflation, and ongoing global uncertainty have put pressure on mortgage bonds, causing rates to remain elevated and even tick higher over the past week.

Here’s what I’m watching:
✔️ Inflation remains higher than expected
✔️ Strong employment data is keeping consumer spending resilient
✔️ Bond markets continue to react to economic and geopolitical news
✔️ Mortgage rates may remain volatile in the coming weeks

The good news? There are still opportunities for buyers and homeowners who have a strategy in place. Every situation is different, and sometimes waiting isn’t the best financial move.

If you’re wondering whether now is the right time to buy, refinance, or simply want to understand your options, I’m always happy to help.

Today is graduation day. 🎓

Three years ago, I took a temporary sub position. I still remember Angela Walker looking at me point blank and asking, “What, you don’t want to stay?”

In about 15 seconds, my entire future changed. The very next day, I enrolled in my credential and master’s program.

Graduating at 40 was definitely never on my bingo card, but here we are.

These last few years have been exhausting, emotional, overwhelming, and so incredibly worth it. My family has lived through late nights on the computer, missed events, papers being written while I was also trying to finish IEPs, full-time teaching, full-time school, still working mortgages, being a wife, and being a mom. There were so many moments I questioned how I was going to keep doing it all.

But somehow… I did.

To my family, thank you for sacrificing alongside me and loving me through every stressful moment, every deadline, every breakdown, and every victory.

I’m so proud of myself for not quitting when things got hard.

And honestly… “Dr. Smethers” has a pretty nice ring to it. 😉 Here’s to the next chapter. ❤️

What a weekend in Reno for Jayliana’s last cheer competition of the season ❤️📣

This season wasn’t easy for these girls. They faced a lot of hardships, challenges, and moments that could’ve broken their spirit but they kept showing up, kept working, and never gave up. Their resilience and determination truly paid off.

What an incredible way to end the season:
🏆 Her Youth Level 2 team became Division Champions — beating out all of the Level 3 and Level 4 teams competing.
🏆 Her Junior Level 1 team not only became Division Champions but took home Overall Grand Champion of the entire competition.

And to top it all off… both teams secured bids to Florida for next April! ✨

Jayliana, we are beyond proud of your hard work, perseverance, and heart. Watching you continue to grow through every challenge has been such a blessing. Keep shining, baby girl. This is only the beginning 💙

19 years ago today, my dad went home to be with our Heavenly Father. For a long time, I was bitter and angry at him for leaving us… for missing so many important milestones in our lives.

But over time, I’ve realized he didn’t miss them at all. He’s been in all of it.

He’s in the little things… every corny joke that makes me smile. Every time I see a man tucking his shirt into his shorts with knee socks, I think of him and laugh. Every time I think I can’t quite remember his voice, a memory finds me, and I can hear his laugh again.

Grief has changed over the years. What once felt like loss now often feels like presence.

I miss you, Dad. I carry you with me every day. 🤍
