Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, including the 13 Morgan Stanley colleagues who never came home.
We also honor the extraordinary courage of Rick Rescorla, whose leadership, preparation, and selflessness helped save thousands of lives that day. His legacy is one of duty, conviction, and care for others.

In the months that followed, Morgan Stanley employees endured unimaginable uncertainty and grief: displaced offices, daily fear, funerals, and the weight of rebuilding while carrying profound loss. Yet they persevered. They showed resilience in one of the most difficult work environments anyone could imagine.

It means something to me to be a part of a firm with a history shaped by people who met tragedy with such courage and compassion.
