On Memorial Day today, I wanted to take a moment to honor two coworkers who are no longer with us, but who had a lasting impact on my life and career. Phillip Eugene Nichol gave me my start in this business. He hired me and consistently gave me opportunities to grow, and I will always be grateful for the confidence he placed in me.

Benny Oliver Lawrence was a mentor to me along the way, right up until the day he passed. I miss them both, and I'm thankful for their influence—not only on my growth in the business, but also on a personal level.

It felt important to me today to take a moment to recognize the most critical person in my career: Sharon McCarrell.
