How to Grow Wealth: A Biblical Perspective

As a financial advisor at Thrivent, I often emphasize the power of discipline over time. Not only is this a simple yet profound concept that can significantly impact your financial future, but it is also a Biblical principle that we see throughout the Scriptures.

The Bible speaks to the wisdom of prudent financial management in many places. One place it is mentioned is Proverbs 13:11 which says, "Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow." This points to steady, consistent growth over time.

Practical Steps:

Start Early: The sooner you invest, the more time your money has to grow.

Be Consistent: Regular contributions can lead to substantial growth.

Stay Patient: Compound interest rewards those who stay the course.

Let's connect and discuss how you can harness the power of consistent discipline + compound interest to secure your financial future, guided by timeless biblical principles.

Here are some recent client questions I've received the last few weeks:

- I heard life insurance could help me leave less of a tax burden to my children when I pass and be a good idea when it’s time to take my RMDs. Can you tell me more about that?

- Should I replace this annuity with a different one?

- Can this annuity help me pay for my upcoming move and house near the beach?

- How can we start saving? We are both bad at it.

- My pension with cover our necessary income. How do I navigate these other two lump sums I will receive when I retire?

- How should we handle this inheritance? Should we pay off debt, or invest it?

All of these questions deserve individual attention, and the answers are specific to your situation. If you don’t have someone helping you navigate these or similar topics, let’s talk.

What an incredible night we had at our first ever “Pints and Ponys” event at Armor Brewing!
Fellowship, fun, and bonding with fellow Girl Dads! We enjoyed great food and drinks and went through a “Dad Braid Bootcamp” learning a basic ponytail, messy bun, basic braid, and French braid! 🍻🍔🎀💆🏻‍♀️
We even had a fierce competition on who could do the best braid, tightest ponytail, and prettiest “messy” bun! 🤣 These competitive dads were not playing around! I saw several guys excited to go home and practice on their daughters and impress their wives! 🏆

Big thanks to Richard Chaves for co-hosting with me, my awesome wife and associate Emily Allen for all the preparation and planning that went into it this last month, and last but not least Armor Brewing Co. for hosting us in their private event space! Special shout-out to Melvina and Tiffany for your hospitality and serving us so well! Can’t wait for the next event!

I used to work for a landscaping company. I know how to take great care of my yard. But I don’t...

Right now we’re in an “in-between” season where we are renting a house while we search for the right one to buy. When we moved in the lawn was basically nonexistent in the backyard and terribly unhealthy out front. I know exactly what to do to get rid of the weeds and bring the grass back to thriving. But it’s not my yard and I’m not willing to invest the time and money it would take to improve it.

I have the knowledge, but I’m choosing not to apply it.

The same can be true of our finances. Just because we learned something that could be helpful for us doesn’t mean it will move the needle. We have to apply the knowledge.

Application can often be the hardest part. We’re inundated with sporadic advice without any idea how to use it to actually make a difference in reaching our goals.

That’s where I can help. Financial advice SHOULD be personal, not generic. There is a lot of great advice out there, but it needs to be applied correctly.

Let’s talk about it.
