Speaking at the election night rally at the State Republican Party HQ.

While the vote count isn't yet official, I'm happy to report that I've received the write-in votes to become the Republican nominee for State Treasurer! My name will be on the ballot in November.

Thank you for the incredible grassroots effort that went into spreading the word about me and the other statewide write-in candidates. From county Republican Party organizations to individual voters, you shared on social media, texted, emailed, distributed flyers and cards, and let friends and family members know. You made this happen.

It took a team effort to get us here, and it will take a team effort to win in November. I'm proud to have you on this team.

Voting for a write-in candidate is easy. When you get to State Treasurer on your Republican primary ballot, there are just two steps.

Step one -- fill in the oval completely. Step two -- write 'James Ellison' on the line.

That's it. Two steps are required. Fill in the oval, write the name. James Ellison for state treasurer.

P.S. Don't forget to write-in the names of the other two Republican statewide write-in candidates: Larry Marker for U.S. Senate, and Joshua Lawrence for State Auditor.

Each of us is unopposed in the primary, but we each need at least 2,351 write-in votes in order to become the Republican nominee for our respective offices.

We need your vote to make sure there is a Republican candidate for these offices in November!

I spoke at a Los Alamos County Republican Party meeting last night.

It was a pleasure to meet folks who are civically engaged and genuinely interested in improving New Mexico.

Gubernatorial candidate Doug Turner also spoke at the event.

Thanks to Lisa Shin and the Los Alamos County Republican Party for hosting us.

Expanded early voting is underway — and Election Day is June 2. When you vote in the Republican primary, please remember to write in "James Ellison" for State Treasurer.

⚠️ Two steps required: fill in the oval AND write the name. Both must be done or the vote won't count.

I’ve been asked what a write-in candidate is, and why my name is not on the ballot.

I decided to run for State Treasurer after the ballot filing deadline had passed — so I filed as a write-in candidate. I collected petition signatures and filed my candidacy with the Secretary of State’s office to become a qualified write-in candidate.

I'm the only Republican candidate for State Treasurer, but write-in candidates still need at least 2,351 valid votes to become the party's nominee.

These cards explain what a write-in candidate is, and how to vote for one.

Expanded early voting has started! When you vote in the Republican primary, under State Treasurer, please fill in the oval and write “James Ellison"

Visit the Sec. of State's website for information about write-in candidates at:

P.S. The two other statewide Republican write-in candidates also need your votes! Write in “Larry Marker” for U.S. Senator, and “Joshua Lawrence” for State Auditor.

Speaking at Frank's Friday breakfast meeting in Albuquerque on Friday, May 15.

I appreciate having the opportunity to talk about the role of the state treasurer, and what I'd bring to the office. It's great to see folks being engaged in the political process!

Expanded early voting has started! Please remember that I'm a write-in candidate in the Republican primary -- to vote for me, you must write my name in.

Under "State Treasurer", please fill in the oval, and write "James Ellison" on the line.

Together, let's make sure that there's a Republican candidate (me) on the general election ballot for State Treasurer!

Visit www.EllisonForNM.com for information.

P.S. Please remember that there are two other statewide Republican write-in candidates who need your vote -- Larry Marker for U.S. Senate, and Joshua Lawrence (who was also present at the breakfast meeting) for State Auditor.

Speaking before the Metro FRW (Federated Republican Women) group yesterday (5/13) in Albuquerque.

I appreciate the great questions from the group about the role of the state treasurer, what my qualifications are for the office, and what I would intend to do if elected. This is what civic engagement looks like!

When you vote in the Republican primary, please remember to write in James Ellison for State Treasurer!

Thank you, Sandoval County Clerk's Office, for putting this together. It's important for voters to know who the qualified write-in candidates are.

Not everyone is aware that in New Mexico, write-in votes are only valid if cast for a qualified write-in candidate. The Sandoval County Clerk has clearly listed all three qualified Republican write-in candidates (in statewide races) on this year's primary ballot.

When you vote in the Republican primary, please remember to write in 'James Ellison' for State Treasurer — and don't forget to fill in the oval next to the line.

Please share this post, and visit www.EllisonForNM.com for more information.

Recently I did something I've never done before — I voted for myself.

I cast my ballot in Bernalillo County as a write-in candidate for New Mexico State Treasurer, and I have to say, it felt significant.

If you're a registered Republican (or an Independent voting in the Republican primary), I'm asking you to do the same.

Early voting is available now at your County Clerk's office, and Expanded Early Voting at additional locations begins May 16. Election Day is June 2.

⚠️ Write-in votes require TWO steps — both are required or your vote won't count:
✅ Fill in the oval
✅ Write the candidate's name on the blank line under the office (in my case, under State Treasurer, write "James Ellison")

I'm the only Republican in this race. Your vote in the primary is what puts me on the November ballot.

P.S. — Don't forget fellow Republican write-in candidates Larry Marker (U.S. Senate) and Joshua Lawrence (State Auditor). All three of us need your write-in vote!

Speaking at a Colfax County Republican Party "Meet the Candidates" event on Thursday, May 7 in Raton, NM.

Many local candidates were present. Other statewide candidates attending were Larry Marker -- U.S. Senate, and David Gallegos -- Lt. Gov. Martin Zamora (CD 3 candidate) also spoke.

A big thank you to Kathy McQueary (county party chair) and the entire Colfax County Republican Party for organizing! It was great to visit beautiful Raton and to meet engaged Colfax County organizers and voters.

I also appreciate the opportunity to be on the air this morning (Friday, May 8 ) in Raton on KRTN Radio's "This, That, and the Other" talk show program. This is a fantastic local program where folks can come on radio to discuss topics of interest in an impromptu fashion. The photo shows me speaking with the host of the program in the radio booth.

When you vote in the Republican primary, remember to write in James Ellison for State Treasurer, and to ask family and friends to do the same!
