MCS

MCS Uganda has the second highest number of young population in the world at 68.7% after Timor-Leste and has 83% of youth unemployed.

The majority of these youth in Uganda do not have any formal bank accounts through which they can access credit or even small loans from the mainstream commercial banks. Realising this situation, some of the youth came up with the solution to start up a Youth SACCO, (Mushana Youth SACCO) the first youth financial institution in Uganda to empower youth with innovative ideas but have no financial ca

pacity and access to bank loans due to lack of COLLATERAL. Lack of collateral is a major constraint to entrepreneurship globally which we seek to address squarely through this SACCO with purposes of guaranteeing one another to take loans and a revolving fund to start up businesses from our own savings. This SACCO seeks to support the Youth develop capacity to enable them access loans through pooled investment schemes. This being a digital era, Youth failed to join already existing SACCOs which have not adopted ICT. Having realised that, we have harnessed ICT to come up with a new innovation (Electronic SACCO System www.mushanapp.net) and the first of its kind in Uganda to enhance SACCO services.

MCS 10th Annual General Meeting

What a remarkable milestone as we successfully held the 10th Annual General Meeting of Mushana Cooperative Society (MCS).

We were honored to host our Guest of Honour, Dr. Kedrace Turyagyenda, whose insightful remarks inspired members to embrace leadership, discipline, and long-term investment for sustainable growth.

We were equally privileged to have our Patron, Dr. Ben Mbonye, in attendance. His continued guidance, support, and belief in the cooperative movement remain instrumental to the growth and success of MCS.

As we reflect on the achievements of the past decade, we remain committed to empowering our members through savings, investment, real estate, agriculture, and wealth creation opportunities.

Thank you to all our members, leaders, partners, and stakeholders who have been part of this incredible journey. The future is bright, and together we will continue building a stronger and more prosperous MCS.

10 Years of Growing Together. 10 Years of Building Wealth. 10 Years of Impact.

Like the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31:16, “She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.”
