We are in Jinja attending the 2026 Dialogue Uganda.
Mastercard Foundation, alongside Heifer International Uganda, convened this two-day dialogue bringing together key stakeholders to explore how agri-food systems can create dignified, meaningful, and sustainable employment opportunities for young people.
Running from 30–31 March 2026, conversations have focused on:
✅ Expanding access to finance and productive assets
✅ Strengthening markets and value chains for youth-led agribusinesses
✅ Fostering partnerships that empower young people to succeed
Building a truly inclusive agri-food ecosystem demands deliberate, sustained action, particularly for young women, young persons with disabilities, and young refugees and displaced persons, who continue to face disproportionate barriers in accessing land, finance, and decision-making spaces.
As the dialogue concludes today, discussions are shining a light on how programmes, partnerships, and ecosystem actors can address these inequalities and unlock greater opportunities for young people, especially young women in agribusiness.
Through collaborative ecosystem conversations, participants are exploring how policy reforms, innovative financing models, and community-based interventions can enable young people to thrive and shape a more inclusive, resilient agri-food future.
