Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) was established on 5 July 1972. It is 78.65% owned by Bank Negara Malaysia and 21.35% by the commercial banks in Malaysia. CGC aims to assist Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) with inadequate or without collateral and track records to obtain credit facilities from financial institutions by providing guarantee cover on such facilit

ies. As of 31 December 2022, CGC has availed over 523,000 guarantees and financing to MSMEs valued at over RM90 billion since its establishment. On 9 February 2018, CGC introduced imSME, Malaysia’s first SME online financing/loan referral platform. The imSME serves as an alternative channel for MSMEs to source for financing products, saving them both the time and the hassle of going through time-consuming processes. From the time of its inception to the end of February 2023, the imSME portal had received more than 6.67 million visits with more than 67,000 registered MSMEs under the portal. In August 2020, imSME won “The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Awards for Best Digital Banking Solution”, a recognition of its innovative solution to provide MSMEs with convenient online access to apply for financing products, anywhere, anytime. CGC Malaysia hosted its Malam Penghargaan CGC 2026 in Johor Bahru on 17 August 2026, bringing together valued partners and stakeholders to celebrate the resilience and contributions of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), while recognising the collaborative efforts that continue to strengthen Malaysia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The event was graced by YB Puan Nadhirah Afiqah binti Abdull Rahim, Deputy Chairman of the Johor State Youth and Sports, Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives Committee, as Guest of Honour and attended by representatives from Bank Negara Malaysia, Trade Associations, State Government Agencies, Financial Institutions (FIs), Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) and CGC Board of Directors and Management Team. From meaningful engagements to a vibrant showcase of Johor's cultural heritage, the evening reflected a strong spirit of partnership and a shared commitment towards empowering Malaysian MSMEs.

The event underscored the vital contribution of MSMEs in driving economic growth, employment creation, supply chain development and community prosperity. It also reaffirmed CGC’s commitment to collaborating with partners and stakeholders across the ecosystem to enhance access to financing and drive the sustainable growth of MSMEs.

More than an appreciation event, the evening reaffirmed the importance of collaboration in building a stronger, more inclusive and resilient MSME ecosystem. As Johor continues to strengthen its economic momentum, CGC remains committed to working together with its partners to ensure that entrepreneurs are well-positioned to participate in and contribute to the state’s growth.

Dalam usaha memperkasa usahawan muda, CGC Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (YEP) bagi kategori Growth Stage telah berjaya dilaksanakan dari 27 hingga 29 Julai 2026 di Hotel Royale Chulan Damansara menerusi kerjasama strategik Institut Keusahawanan Negara (INSKEN).

Program YEP Growth Stage Kohort 2 ini menghimpunkan 30 usahawan PMKS, khususnya dalam sektor makanan dan minuman (F&B), dengan memberi tumpuan kepada pengukuhan operasi, peningkatan keuntungan dan pertumbuhan perniagaan yang mampan. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui bimbingan strategik, perkongsian pengalaman industri dan pembelajaran praktikal yang relevan dengan keperluan semasa perniagaan.

Sepanjang sesi ini, para peserta dibimbing oleh Coach Johar, pengasas A&J Grill Western, Sungai Buloh. Antara pengisian utama program dan pembelajaran yang dikongsikan termasuklah:
✅Pengiraan kos hidangan secara efektif
✅Analisis populariti dan klasifikasi menu
✅Strategi membina menu yang lebih menguntungkan
✅Pengurusan bahan mentah yang cekap dan kos efektif
✅Penilaian prestasi kewangan dan strategi memperkukuh sumber pendapatan dan keuntungan perniagaan

Bagi memastikan berkesanan program berkekalan, setiap peserta akan menerima bimbingan susulan selama tiga bulan daripada Business Advisor CGC menerusi sesi pemantauan dan lawatan ke premis perniagaan. Inisiatif ini bertujuan untuk membantu peserta mengaplikasikan ilmu yang dipelajari dalam operasi perniagaan, sekaligus membantu mereka menangani cabaran perniagaan dan mempercepatkan pertumbuhan secara mampan.

Melalui kerjasama strategik bersama INSKEN, CGC terus komited memperkasa usahawan muda dengan pengetahuan, kemahiran dan sokongan yang diperlukan untuk membina perniagaan yang lebih berdaya tahan, berdaya saing dan mampan.

Celebrating Excellence at the CGC Awards 2025

CGC celebrated excellence across Malaysia’s MSME and financial ecosystem at the 31st Edition of the CGC Awards, while officially launching the RM10 billion BNM-CGC Portfolio Guarantee Schemes on 11 August 2026.

The event was graced by Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour, and attended by more than 300 distinguished guests, including senior leaders from Financial Institutions (FIs), Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs), Development Financial Institutions (DFIs), government agencies, strategic partners, and award-winning MSMEs.

A total of 32 awards were presented across the Top FI Partner and Non-FI Partner Awards, Citation of Merits, Merdeka Awards, and SME Awards, recognising excellence in financing, business growth, innovation, and ecosystem development.

The achievements of this year’s recipients reflect the resilience, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of Malaysia’s business community, underscoring the importance of strong partnerships and collective commitment in driving sustainable economic growth.

The CGC SME Street Bazaar 2026, organised by CGC Developmental Programme® under its Access New Markets initiative in conjunction with Sunway University's 30th Convocation Celebration, welcomed visitors over two vibrant days to discover and support 16 CGC MSMEs, each showcasing their unique products, services, and entrepreneurial journeys.

💼 From emerging local brands and handcrafted creations to mouth-watering food and lifestyle products, the bazaar brought Malaysian entrepreneurship to life in a dynamic and engaging setting.

The event also provided participating MSMEs with valuable opportunities to learn, grow and strengthen their businesses by:
✨ Gaining firsthand insights into customer preferences and purchasing behaviour.
✨ Enhancing product presentation and sales pitching skills through direct customer engagement.

Every act of giving has the power to transform lives and create lasting impact. Embracing this spirit, the CGC Group Social Engagement Initiative continued its community outreach efforts on 25 July 2026 at Sekolah Kebangsaan (Asli) Bukit Kemandol, bringing together CGC's Senior Management, Vice Presidents (VPs), and Assistant Vice Presidents (AVPs) to support and uplift students and the wider school community.

The programme was made possible through the dedication, teamwork, and unwavering support of the organising committee, together with all participants who generously contributed their time and effort. As part of the initiative, CGC successfully raised RM15,500.00 through a donation drive in support of the school, demonstrating the collective generosity, compassion, and community spirit of CGC employees.

Organised in collaboration with Sisterhood Alliance, the half-day programme provided valuable learning experiences through two key activities. Students gained practical exposure to sustainable agricultural activities during the Vegetable Farming session, while the Celik Wang Talk empowered students to develop with essential financial literacy and money management skills through engaging and interactive learning.

To conclude the programme, students and teachers received tokens of appreciation in recognition of their participation and support. Through initiatives such as these, CGC continues to strengthen its commitment to education, community development and social responsibility, creating a positive and lasting impact on the communities it serves. 💚🌱✨
