Two universities. Two days. One shared purpose — preparing future talents for the real working world.
Group People Office recently engaged with students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Monash University Malaysia through insightful university engagement sessions held on 19 and 20 May 2026.
The sessions focused on what it truly means to be job-ready today, including interview expectations and first impressions to the skills and mindset needed beyond academic qualifications. Students also gained valuable industry exposure through leadership sharing sessions, panel discussions, mock interviews, resume critiques, and personality assessments.
Our leaders and panelists shared personal career journeys, industry expectations, and insights into opportunities within the banking, investment banking, and financial services sectors.
The UKM session featured an engaging industry talk on “Navigating Banking Careers”, with insights from Dr. Syukri Sudari (Group Chief People Officer), En. Risham Akashah (Group Chief Community Banking Officer), Pn. Nur Farzana Zulkifli (Head, Strategic Compliance & Advisory), and Mr. Lee Sin Hau (Head, Treasury of AHIBB / Liquidity Management). The session was moderated by Franky Erly Roma Anak Stephen, Management Trainee.
Meanwhile, the Monash University Malaysia session began with an insightful sharing by Mr. Andy Goh (Managing Director, Securities), followed by inspiring perspectives from Pn. Nor Azliza Rahman (Chief People Officer, Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad) and Ms. Sharon Chee (Managing Director, Strategic Investments). This was followed by an engaging industry talk on “Behind the Scenes of the Capital Market”, featuring Loong Chee Wei (Head of Research), Shaun Siau Kai-Wei (Senior Associate Director, Strategic Investments), and Tan Lay Chin (Associate Director, Derivatives Strategy & Development), and moderated by Iman Nur Haqim Hashim, Management Trainee.
Most importantly, it was inspiring to see the curiosity, confidence, and potential of these future talents as they prepare to enter the workforce.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making these sessions meaningful and impactful. We look forward to continuing our efforts in nurturing the next generation of leaders. 🚀
