Oriental Bank Plc. Elevates Cross-Border Payments with Visa Direct, Powering Real-Time Global Transfers from Cambodia
Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Oriental Bank Plc., a leading digital-first and innovation-driven commercial bank, today announced the launch of Visa Direct, a real-time, secure push payment solution from Visa Inc. The service enables customers in Cambodia to seamlessly send funds to overseas bank accounts and digital wallets across key global corridors.
This strategic collaboration with Visa—one of the world’s most trusted payment networks—marks a significant milestone in Oriental Bank’s mission to deliver world-class, borderless banking experiences to its growing base of digitally connected individuals and businesses.
With Visa Direct Send to Account (VDA), customers can transfer funds quickly and securely to bank accounts across major international markets.
In the initial stage, the service supports the following destinations and currencies: China (CNY), Malaysia (MYR), Singapore (SGD), Vietnam (VND), Hong Kong (HKD), the United Kingdom (GBP), and the United States (USD).
Complementing this, Visa Direct Send to Wallet (VDW) enables transfers to China via leading digital ecosystems such as Alipay and WeChat Pay—bringing greater convenience to customers transacting within one of the world’s most advanced digital economies.
Looking ahead, Oriental Bank will soon expand the service to additional countries and corridors, including Canada (CAD), Japan (JPY), Indonesia (IDR), Australia (AUD), and selected destinations within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), further enhancing its global reach and supporting more diverse customer needs.
The Bank will continue to progressively introduce new destinations and capabilities in line with customer demand, regulatory readiness, and market opportunities.
The service is purpose-built for modern consumers, entrepreneurs, and internationally active businesses, supporting a wide range of use cases including:

To accelerate adoption, Oriental Bank will roll out a limited-time promotional fee of USD 8 per transaction for the first six (6) months, making international transfers more accessible and cost-effective for both individuals and businesses.
