People are at the heart of everything we do at Saffery Trust, so investing in their development matters.

Earlier this year, we partnered with Heart Leadership to launch a development academy for our people, focused on the skills that help individuals, teams and leaders thrive. They're often referred to as "soft" skills, but in reality they're 'essential' skills to building strong relationships, effective leadership and positive workplace cultures.

Sue Le Gallez and Sophie Norman from our People & Culture team recently attended Culture Camp, brought to Guernsey for the first time by Heart Leadership. The event provided a valuable opportunity to hear fresh perspectives, share experiences and continue conversations around creating environments where people can do their best work.

What better way to spend a team day than a trip to Sark? ⛵️☀️

Recently our Guernsey office closed for our annual funday, heading off island for a choice of activities, before everyone came back together for a BBQ, games and plenty of laughs.

It was a brilliant opportunity to switch off from the day-to-day, spend time together and enjoy one of the best places right on our doorstep.

What a lovely evening at the STEP Guernsey Annual Ball on Friday! 🎭✨

Members of our Guernsey team joined friends and colleagues from across the island’s fiduciary community for this year’s Once Upon a Masquerade – A Regency Affair.

Away from the day-to-day, the Ball is always a great opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and enjoy a fantastic evening together.

Thank you to the STEP Guernsey Social team, and everyone involved in planning and organising the evening, for another spectacular and memorable event.

Seeing the funds raised through the Saffery Rotary Walk reach local charities is always a highlight.

Congratulations to this year's beneficiaries, and thank you to the many walkers, volunteers, organisers and supporters who make the event possible. We're proud to play a part in an initiative that continues to make a real difference across our community.

Last night the charity beneficiaries of the 2026 Saffery Rotary Walk received their share of the funds at Government House, presented by His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, Lieutenant General Sir Richard Cripwell KBE CB.

Thank you to every walker, every marshal, every volunteer and everyone who sponsored a friend.

Thank you to Rotary Guernesiais and Rotary Club of Guernsey who organise the Walk, and to Saffery Trust Guernsey , our lead sponsor, whose support covers the cost of staging the event so that the money raised can go to these sixteen organisations.

We also want to thank our other sponsors and supporters, without whom the Walk would simply not be possible.

The best way to tell the story of the Saffery Rotary Walk is through the people who take part.

Thank you to everyone who shared their videos from along the route to contribute to such a wonderful film that celebrates a day of determination, resilience and community spirit

The challenging weather only made the achievement more inspiring. From first-time walkers to seasoned participants, every step taken helped support local charities and the valuable work they do across our community.

We're proud to support an event that continues to bring people together for such a great cause.

Congratulations are in order for two of our team celebrating professional qualification success. 👏

Connor Batiste has passed the CISI Level 3 Certificate in Wealth & Investment Management, while Codie Ford has passed the CGI Level 5 Diploma in International Finance and Administration.

These are fantastic achievements and reflect the commitment both Connor and Codie have shown to developing their knowledge and expertise alongside their roles at Saffery Trust.

Our summer FIKA, hosted by the Finance Team, was a brilliant reminder that workplace culture is built in the small moments.

Held in the courtyard, colleagues enjoyed traditional fete games including Splat the Rat, Fox Hole and Hoopla, before cooling off with everyone's favourite treat, an ice cream van serving classic 99s.

For a few minutes out of the day, the focus shifted from deadlines and meetings to conversation, laughter and spending time together as a team.

These moments of connection help create the supportive and collaborative environment we're proud of.

Congratulations to two of our Guernsey colleagues on their fantastic STEP exam results.

Greg Tompkins has passed the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management with Distinction, while Katie Durkin has passed the STEP Certificate in International Trust Management, also with Distinction.

A brilliant achievement for them both and a reflection of the hard work and commitment they continue to bring to their professional development and their roles at Saffery Trust.

A fantastic evening out on the water for some of our Guernsey colleagues, organised by our Sports & Social Committee.
Joining Out The Blue on their boat, everyone enjoyed beautiful sea views, great company, a delicious chippy tea and a glorious sunset. There was also plenty of success on the fishing front, with some impressive catches reeled in!
Events like these are a great opportunity to get together outside of work, enjoy our local surroundings, and spend time with colleagues in a relaxed setting.
