“I walk away from our meetings with a buzz.”

That’s how Mark Harris of Jersey Heart Support Group describes being mentored by Nick Halsall of Lloyds International. Since they started working together, the charity’s visibility has grown, and it even took part in Parkrun’s landmark 500th event.

This National Mentoring Day, see what a great mentoring partnership can achieve 👇

This World Homeless Day, we’re shining a spotlight on Action For Children - Guernsey Youth & Housing Project, the only charity in Guernsey dedicated to tackling the growing problem of youth homelessness. They have a very simple aim: to make sure no young person’s future is blighted by having nowhere to live.

We spoke to Aaron Davies, Children’s Services Manager, who says there are many issues surrounding youth homelessness.

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day. It's a chance to talk openly about mental health, and to remember that it means different things for different people.

We all have mental health; it shapes how we think, feel and cope every day. For some people, mental health challenges develop into severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or severe depression, which can affect every part of their life. No one should have to face that alone, and thanks to dedicated local charities, they don't have to.

We're proud to fund charities across the Channel Islands that make a real difference. One of them is Focus on Mental Illness, a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with severe mental illness and their families.

Demand for their support has increased significantly, and families are arriving with increasingly complex needs. Stigma, misunderstanding and isolation remain a reality for many, which is why their work matters more than ever.

🇯🇪 friends - have your say and help shape the island's philanthropy policy 👇

Have you seen our article in the Jersey Evening Post today?

Thank you to the JEP for helping us share the thinking behind Jersey’s first Philanthropy Policy, and, importantly, why we want Islanders to help shape what comes next.

***Our public survey is now open and we want to hear from you***

Whether you work for a charity, run a business, advise clients, work with philanthropists or foundations, give your time or money to local causes, or simply have a view on what Jersey needs in the future, we’d really value your input.

The survey will help us understand what could make giving easier, strengthen Jersey’s charitable sector and help philanthropy have the greatest possible impact for Islanders.

After six fantastic years, we sadly have to say goodbye to our Chair, Philippa Stahelin, in early 2027.

She has been the beating heart of the Foundation, steering us through challenges, celebrating our wins, and always putting our mission first. Her vision, warmth, and unwavering dedication have shaped who we are today, and the impact she's had on our Islands’ communities will be felt for years to come.

Looking ahead, we’re now beginning our search for a new Chair. If you’re passionate about championing charities in the Channel Islands that make a positive difference to the lives of people who are socially excluded and disadvantaged, enabling them to play a fuller role in the community, then we want to hear from you!
