💗 Our November Charity Challenge to read everyday in November for Cancer Research UK

This year has been a year like no other for our little team.

Our lovely Lisa has faced cancer, and it’s difficult to put into words just how tough this year has been. Cancer has a way of turning everyday life upside down, bringing uncertainty, fear and challenges that nobody should have to face.
But throughout it all, we have been completely in awe of Lisa.

Her strength, vulnerability and bravery have inspired us more than she will probably ever realise. We’ve seen first-hand that being strong doesn’t mean pretending everything is OK. Sometimes, strength is simply taking things one day at a time, accepting the difficult days and continuing to move forward.

That’s why, this November, we’re taking on a charity challenge in support of Cancer Research UK.

This one is incredibly personal to us. ❤️
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, we would be so grateful. Every contribution helps support research that could lead to better treatments, earlier diagnoses and more precious time with the people we love.

After the year we’ve had, this challenge means more to us than we can say.

The cost of low-deposit mortgages has dropped to its lowest level in over 3 years.

Here’s what you need to know:
✅ 95% LTV (just 5% deposit) – Average 2-year fixed rate now 5.41%
✅ 90% LTV – Average 2-year fixed rate down to 5.24%
✅ Overall market – Typical 2-year fixed rate is 4.94%, down from 6.29% in November 2023
✅ More choice – 95% LTV deals have jumped to 465 products, the highest since 2008

💡 What does this mean for you?
• If you’ve only got a small deposit, things are looking better than they have for years.

House Prices: Why the North is Moving Faster than the South

House price growth isn’t the same everywhere. Here’s what’s happening:
✅ Northern Ireland: +7.9% – the strongest rise in the UK
✅ Scotland & Northern England: Around +2% to +3.1%
✅ Wales: Similar growth at +2.3%
✅ Southern England & London: Flat – around 0% to +0.3%

Key Points
✅Buyer demand for £500,000+ homes: Down 4% compared to the same period last year.
✅New listings for £500,000+ homes: Down 7%.
✅Mainstream market activity: Largely unchanged year-on-year (contracts, demand, and supply stable).
✅Regional concentration: London and the South East have the highest proportion of homes over £500,000, so the impact will be most visible there.

Why the gap?
The slowdown at the higher end suggests budget speculation is influencing decisions for high value properties.
