DRUMMOND, Mona (née Wilkinson) (Newcastle) died 10th February 2026 peacefully at Slieve Dhu Nursing home surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Alphonsus and cherished mother of Tennie (Marty), Joe (Jayne) and Al (Ann). Much loved grandmother of Monica, Lisa, Julie-ann, Thomas, Adam, Emily, Jack and Jenny and adored great grandmother to Cliodhna, Callum, Ellen, Katie, Ollie, Ciaran, Chloe, Luca, Lilah and Louis.

Cherished daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Wilkinson.

Mona’s remains will be reposing at her daughter’s residence 63 Slievenamaddy Avenue, Newcastle, BT33 0HY with those welcome to pay their respects on Wednesday 11th February 2026 and Thursday 12th February 2026 from 11am – 3pm and 5pm – 8pm. Leaving on Friday 13th February 2026 at 9.15am for requiem mass at 10am in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Newcastle followed by cremation in Dardistown Crematorium at 1pm.

House private on the morning of the funeral please.

We, the family of the late Damien Small, would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported and sympathised with us during the recent bereavement of our father.

Your presence at the wake and funeral, your kind words, Mass and sympathy cards, flowers and messages of condolence were greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all those friends and extended family who assisted us over the wake and funeral, your many acts of kindness meant so much to us.

A special word of thanks to Father Jim Crudden for his prayers, words of comfort and making Daddy’s funeral Mass so meaningful.

The family of the late Michael Draine wish to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who showed us such kindness, sympathy, and support at the time of Michael’s passing.

We are deeply grateful to our family, friends, neighbours, and work colleagues, and to all who visited our home, brought food, Mass cards, sympathy cards, and letters, attended the wake and funeral, and shared memories of the wonderful person Michael was. Your presence and kindness brought us great comfort.

Our sincere thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of the Royal Hospital, Ulster Hospital, and the Macmillan Unit, especially Dr Sandra, as well as the Community Nurses and Palliative Care Team, for the care, dignity, and compassion shown to Michael throughout his illness.

We also wish to thank Edmundson’s Electrical and Michael’s many former colleagues who attended the funeral and kept in touch with him in the eight years since his retirement. Your friendship meant so much to him.

We are very grateful to Father Martin O’Hagan and Deacon Pat McNeill for the beautiful prayers and eulogy, and to Anna Moore for the lovely music. Our thanks also to the Crowne Plaza for providing refreshments after the Funeral Mass.

Finally, we would like to thank Stephen Morgan Funeral Directors for their professionalism, attention to detail, and for the patience and kindness they showed us during this difficult time.

The holiday season can bring a special kind of heartache. Christmas lights, familiar songs, and cherished traditions can stir memories that feel both beautiful and unbearable.

As 2025 comes to a close Stephen Morgan Funeral Directors remembers all those who have lost a loved one.

I would like to express my sincere thoughts to the families who entrusted their loved ones funeral arrangements into our care this year. It has been an honour and a privilege to play a role in their final journey.

This Christmas and New Year, I pray you find small moments of peace, quiet strength, and comfort in the love that still surrounds you.

SMALL, Damien (Newcastle) died 23rd December 2025 peacefully at the Downe Hopsital surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Chrissie and much loved father of Lisa and Oonagh. Cherished granda of Adam, Rebecca (Aidan), Chloe and Tanya. Adored great granda of Austin and Oisin. Much loved brother of Eugene, Marian and the late Sean, Leo and Noel.

Damien will repose at his daughter Lisa's home from Wednesday 24th December 2025 at 3pm until Friday 26th December 2025 at 2.30pm, strictly private to family only please. Damien will repose in Our Lady of Assumption Church Newcastle, side chapel on Friday 26th December 2025 where family will be in attendance for those wishing to pay their respects from 3pm to 9pm. Requiem mass for Damien will be on Saturday 27th Decemeber 2025 at 12 noon in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Newcastle followed by interment in St Patricks cemetery, Bryansford.

DRAINE, Michael (Dunmurry) died peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast on 14th December 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Linda and cherished father of Stephen (Sarah), Michael, Susan (Gerard), Megan (Stephen), also adored Granda of Michael, Fiontan, Murray, Anna and the late Cillian. Much loved brother of Geraldine, Brian, Anne and the late Annemarie and Dymphna.

Michael’s remains will repose at his late residence 15 Killeaton Park, Dunmurry, BT17 9HE, those wishing to pay their respects welcome from 12 noon – 3pm and 6pm - 9pm on Wednesday 17th December. Leaving on Thursday 18th December 2025 at 9.30am for requiem mass at 10am in St Colmans Church, 111 Queensway, Lambeg, Lisburn followed by cremation at Roselawn Crematorium, Belfast on Saturday 20th December 2025 at 10am.

ANDERSON, Patricia (née Fitzsimons) (Dundrum formerly Kilclief) died 13th December 2025 peacefully in Slieve Dhu Nursing Home, Newcastle.

Beloved wife of Bob, loved and remembered by her children, step children, grandchildren and her sister.

Patricia’s remains will be reposing in the chapel of rest at 26 John St, Downpatrick from 6pm – 8pm on Monday 15th December 2025 and from 2pm- 4pm and 6pm – 8pm on Tuesday 16th December 2025. Wake strictly private to family and friends only please. Patricia’s requiem mass will take place on Wednesday 17th December 2025 at 11.30am in St Malachy’s Church Kilclief followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
