❤️ 5 insurance claims made by our clients in 2026.

Another claim approved this week, this time for Serious Illness Cover. ✅

I’d much rather be writing a post saying we’ve had ZERO claims this year because all our clients are fit, healthy and doing well.

Unfortunately, that’s not the reality.

That’s now 5 of our clients who’ve needed to make a claim on their insurance this year.

Behind every claim is someone who’s had their life turned upside down, and in some cases, a family going through an incredibly difficult time.

It’s not something we celebrate, but receiving emails like this, confirming that the cover we arranged is doing exactly what it was supposed to do, means a lot.

We spend our days helping people buy homes, but making sure they can keep those homes if life doesn’t go to plan is just as important.

Hopefully, none of our clients ever need to make another claim. But if they do, I hope we’ve made things that little bit easier for them. ❤️

🚨 LIMITED COMPANY DIRECTORS — your payslip might NOT tell a lender what you can actually afford.

This is one of the biggest mistakes I see business owners make when applying for a mortgage.

You might pay yourself a relatively small salary for tax efficiency and leave a significant amount of profit sitting inside your company.

So you assume:

“My payslips only show £20k… I’ll never get the mortgage I want.”

❌ Not necessarily.

Different mortgage lenders can assess limited company directors in VERY different ways.

Depending on the lender and your circumstances, they may look at things such as:

• Salary + dividends
• Salary + your share of company profits
• Retained profits within the business
• Your latest accounts
• Your track record and how the business is performing

That can mean two lenders looking at exactly the same business owner and arriving at VERY different affordability figures.

And this is why going straight to your own bank can sometimes leave you thinking you can borrow far less than you actually could.

Some good news to start the week 🙌

CRC has been shortlisted for Mortgage Broker of the Year at the YM Liverpool Property & Business Awards 2026 🏆

Really happy with this one. We’ve grown a lot over the last couple of years and the team work ridiculously hard, so it’s nice to get a bit of recognition for what we’re building.

Thanks as always to everyone who recommends us, sends people our way or has used us themselves. We really do appreciate it.

Hopefully we can go one better in November 🤞😂
