Run by women, for young women and girls, it’s only right that we celebrate International Women’s Day! 💜 CMSOD was opened in 1934 by the well-loved and well-known Constance Moss, and her daughter Denie, granddaughter Stephanie and great-granddaughter Chloe are still continuing that legacy today, over 90 years later!
What makes our school special is the respect, love and friendliness the girls have towards eachother, the students, and to Denie & Stephanie. Be it groups of girls who’ve been through CMSOD together since they were 2, or new girls being taken under the wing of others, there’s a place for every girl here. We’re not pretentious show-girls. We do something we enjoy with our friends for an hour every Saturday, and manage to put on fabulous showcases and work towards our medal examinations along the way.
We don’t necessarily produce theatre school, dancing career-driven girls - many of our girls could definitely go onto that if they wanted - but instead girls who have developed an extra dimension to their personalities: commitment, manners, confidence & new skills to make them into the amazing girls they are! Our CMSOD alumni have gone on to be very successful, and we’re very proud of all of our girls for what they achieve.
If you’re reading this as a prospective parent or pupil, please don’t hesitate to contact us about joining our school! Message our Facebook & Instagram pages () or drop us an email on [email protected] ...and join our special CMSOD family!
Thank you parents for your support for the girls - not forgetting the dancing dads on IWD, we couldn’t do it without you and your (often) early mornings too! We hope you’re all very proud to be CMSOD girls and families. You’re part of thousands of girls who can say that too, and we’re proud of each and every one of you.
Lots of dancing love on International Women’s Day 2026 💟
