Halifax have today announced they are launching a mortgage product where just a £5000 deposit is required for a house purchase!!

This is aimed at first time buyers where we all know that saving for the initial deposit can be so hard, impossible in some instances.

As ever, credit status plays a huge part in this type of mortgage along with affordability rules too, but this is a great incentive to help first time buyers where saving for a large deposit seems so far away.

Couple of good news stories from today!

💰 Received a mortgage offer for a couple of clients who I helped secure a mortgage for 2 years ago. There was a bit of bad debt when we done the initial mortgage, but we managed to get them what they needed at the time on a 2 year deal as the plan was for it to always be short term as the bad debt would have gone after the 2 years.

I have now just secured them a new deal which works out £287 cheaper per month!!

💰 Also secured a remortgage for another client saving him £150 per month!

Sometimes you need a short term plan for the longer term goals!

After a crazy busy January it has been a busy start to February too! Pleased with a mortgage offer that I had issued today for a client which was not straight forward.

Client had a few missed payments on their car finance from 2024 and also a couple of other credit issues.

The client is also self employed where his latest year's figures are much greater than the previous year's which can bring down the average income making affordability difficult.

Quick success story early into the New Year. Last night I submitted a mortgage application for a client who had been refused a mortgage elsewhere.
