I know I’ve been a little quiet on here recently! It’s been a busy summer personally, while still working and fitting everything in around family life and the school holidays 😊

This morning I was back out networking at The Growth Community Beverley.

Emma Clark gave a fantastic presentation about her journey and what FabTraining has to offer. You can definitely tell she’s used to presenting and teaching!

Lee gave us a really useful learning point all about Cyber Security, and it was lovely to catch up with Jonny from Dove House Hospice again too.

Over the last few days I’ve also had a couple of lovely 1-2-1s with Fiona Jansen - FJ Accountants and Donna Bland from DMB Accountancy, as well as spending a couple of hours on a webinar with provider and industry updates.

Yesterday was a mixture of taking my son to the dentist and getting some admin done, and this afternoon is more admin before his swimming lesson tonight — and I’ll be getting a swim in too! 🏊‍♀️

He’s back at school tomorrow, so next week it’s back to finding our normal routine again! 😂

It was lovely to be back out this morning, catching up with everyone and learning more about their businesses.

A slightly different start to my Thursday! 🎷☕💃

This morning I was child-free, so I decided to do something completely out of my comfort zone…

I met up with two ladies I’d never met before and went to my first 7am coffee rave at the Waterfront Bar in Hull!

I was definitely a little nervous walking in, but I’m so glad I went. It was such a lovely morning, a great atmosphere and certainly a different way to start the day! 😂

After the last few years, I’ve realised I need to make a little more time for me too. Like so many of us, I spend a lot of my time juggling family, work and looking after everyone else – and sometimes you forget that it’s OK to do something just for yourself.

Today was a reminder that making time for yourself doesn’t have to be anything huge.

Sometimes it’s simply taking the plunge, stepping outside your comfort zone, meeting some new people and doing something completely different.

And apparently, sometimes it involves a saxophone at 7am! 😂🎷

It’s always lovely to receive feedback from my clients, and this really reflects how I want people to feel when they come to me for help.

⭐ “I initially wanted one specific insurance but was now aware that other insurances were available to me. I was given this information and left to make the decisions that were right for me without feeling pressured into anything.” ⭐

Sometimes someone comes to me looking for one particular type of insurance, but after chatting through their circumstances, there may be other types of protection they weren’t aware of.

Everyone’s circumstances are different, and for me it’s important to take the time to listen, understand what matters to you and look at the protection that is right for your individual circumstances.

It’s been a busy start to the week at Just Now Financial Services! 😊

Monday was a mixture of admin, training with a new provider joining our panel, starting some pre-underwriting enquiries and speaking with a client to discuss the terms they had been offered.

Yesterday I headed over to the Growth Community Selby meeting. Sandra gave a great presentation about how she helps her clients, and Shona shared a really useful learning point around travel insurance. It was also lovely to see some returning visitors and welcome some new faces.

After the meeting, I had a great 1-2-1 and lunch with Owen Brookes from Primary Tech. I missed his presentation at our last meeting while we were away, so it was good to catch up and learn more about how he helps his clients.

For me, networking isn't just about meeting people – it's about building relationships, understanding what other businesses do and knowing who I can confidently recommend when one of my clients or contacts needs their help.

☀️ Back to work after a lovely family holiday!

Monday was my first day back in the office after just over two weeks off, and I think most of the day disappeared into my inbox and creating a rather long to-do list! 😂

It’s been a busy first week back at Just Now Financial Services – responding to provider updates, chasing GP reports, reviewing terms offered and completing paperwork for clients.

I also had a review with someone who originally wanted to look at Income Protection.

During our conversation, we talked about the fact that they own their own business and what would happen to that business if they were unable to work.

It wasn’t something they had really considered before, so we’re now also going to look at Key Person cover.

Sometimes you don't know where the gaps are until you actually sit down and talk everything through – which is why I always like to look at the bigger picture rather than just one policy.

I’ve also completed an application for Key Person cover for another client this week and booked several meetings in for the coming weeks.

Tuesday morning took me away from the desk for Growth Community Beverley members-only meeting, and yesterday I swapped the screen for some fresh air with a netwalk from Hull Marina along the Humber. It was lovely to finally meet Jonny Bottomley from Dove House Hospice face-to-face too.

And because it’s the school holidays, there’s been plenty of Mum’s taxi duties to holiday clubs fitted around work! 🚗😂

I did manage to squeeze in a swim while our son had his swimming lesson though, and another one is planned for tomorrow morning. 🏊‍♀️

Slowly getting caught up and enjoying being back helping people make sure they, their families and their businesses are properly protected. 💙
