Our new 100 Day Notice savings account is available for savers who have *£1,000 or more to deposit and are comfortable giving 100 days’ notice before making a withdrawal.

The account offers a variable rate of 3.90% Gross/AER, with interest paid annually or monthly to suit you.
*Deposits to the account cannot be transferred from any existing savings accounts held with the Society.

Our fabulous volunteers have been busy at The Hinckley School again!🏫🌿

You may recall we visited Hinckley School a couple of times last year; first to create a memorial garden – a space for thought, reflection and nature – and then again to plant bulbs to bring more colour and variety this year.🌷

The school reached out again earlier this year, this time for help to develop their new eco-garden, so of course we dug out our gardening gloves and got busy!

🗣️Becki Crisp, the school’s library manager and green-fingered champion, said:

“I am so grateful for the support of the Hinckley & Rugby volunteers. They turned up, despite the heat, to help with our new eco-garden and allotment, as well as refresh the memorial garden they created last year. They managed to w**d, plant, paint benches, make raised beds and start work on our bug hotel. The areas have been transformed! The team were absolutely wonderful, brought lots of skills, and were, as always, a delight to work with.”

A big thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and worked through the fierce sunshine to help develop more fantastic green spaces at our local school.💚

Savings goals can look very different from one generation to the next. 📈

In our latest study, we explored how people across the UK are thinking about saving, from short-term goals and everyday financial pressures to longer-term plans for the future.

One finding showed that building an emergency fund is a key priority for 25 to 44-year-olds, with 45% currently saving towards one.

The results show just how personal saving can be, with different age groups prioritising everything from emergency funds and holidays to home improvements, retirement and supporting family.

It’s Volunteers’ Week, and we’re celebrating the fantastic volunteering efforts across Hinckley & Rugby Building Society! 🙌

Last year, our colleagues gave an incredible 1,073 hours of their time to support local communities. 💛

Through our partnership with Leicestershire Cares, alongside many other local initiatives, our people have supported everything from tree planting and foodbanks to education and employability.

Can you help us support a fantastic community club in Nuneaton?💛

This June Society volunteers are rolling up their sleeves at The Windmill in Nuneaton, tidying, painting, gardening, reupholstering and generally refreshing things, to give this much-loved hub of the community a refresh and new lease of life.💫

📆We will be there daily for two weeks starting on 15 June.

We would love to carry out some more specific refurbishment work to make even more of an impact, however there are jobs that require skills outside of our abilities and materials we don’t yet possess.

📣Can you help or do you know someone who can?

Do you have the skills or any materials that would help us complete our work at this fantastic facility for local people? 🙌

We’re looking for:

• Carpenters
• Gardeners
• General handymen
• Reupholstering skills
• Doors for toilet areas
• Paint
• Blinds

Many companies still issue cheques - often for one off payments or where there isn’t a linked bank account. Whatever the reason, here’s what you need to know about paying a cheque into your savings account with us ⬇️

⏳ Cheque clearance times
When you pay a cheque into your savings account, the money is usually available to withdraw from the start of the sixth business day after it’s paid in (excluding bank holidays).

For example:
• Cheque paid in on a Monday → usually available from 9am the following Tuesday
• Cheque paid in on a Friday → usually available from 9am on the Monday of the second following week

If a cheque is returned unpaid, we’ll contact you to explain why and confirm any charge.
