Your mortgage deal ending in 2026? You’re not alone. Around 1.8 million UK fixed-rate deals are set to expire this year.

Most lenders let you lock in a new rate three to six months before your current deal ends. Starting early means you’re not rushed into a last minute decision.

This is where a broker really adds value. We can reserve a rate on your behalf while your existing deal is still running. Think of it as a safety net, your worst-case scenario locked in. If rates rise, you’re already protected. If a better deal comes along, we can ditch and switch you across to it before you complete.

The security of having something in place, with the flexibility to move if the market improves.

If your deal is ending this year, get in touch.

Whole-of-market, independent and in most cases, no cost to you. We’d love to have a chat.

More first-time buyers are choosing ‘fixer-uppers’, and the numbers show why it could be a good option for some!

Recent research by reveals that buying a property that needed work, helped first-time buyers in some really meaningful ways:

🏠 41% were able to buy in the location they actually wanted

📈 23% increased the value of their property

🎨 30% got to shape the home to their own taste over time

👨‍👩‍👧 22% were able to prepare the home for future plans, like starting a family

Sometimes the right home isn’t the finished one. It’s the one with potential.

If you’re a first-time buyer, it’s also worth knowing about Nationwide’s Helping Hand mortgage, which offers borrowing of up to 6x your income and £500 cashback on completion, giving you a stronger start on that project property.

Every lender has their own criteria and what works for one buyer won’t always work for another, so the best place to start is a conversation. Get in touch with one of our expert, whole-of-market mortgage brokers and we’ll help you find the right fit for your situation.

Not every mortgage application is straightforward, and high street lenders aren't always well placed to help when circumstances fall outside the norm.

If you're self employed, a contractor, have multiple income streams, or have experienced credit issues in the past, a specialist broker can make a real difference. They understand how different lenders view complex situations and can point you towards the right options, ones that a standard bank visit might never uncover.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
