This is where our research all started.
In 2022, we visited a client nursery who was worried. They had accommodated 19 children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a 38 place setting, and had just received a letter from the local authority asking them to take another.
The owner was overwhelmed.
Staff were exhausted.
We provided legal support, and stayed to listen.
That visit stayed with us. It was the moment we knew this was bigger than one nursery, or one letter. So we set out to understand what was really happening across the sector, and that is what led us to sponsor Sunina Kiran's PhD research today.
Every child deserves the right support.
Every nursery deserves to be heard.
