We may not be experts in martial arts, but what we are experts in is financial resilience - and what we know after a day spent with Thandor Dlamini is that the two have a lot in common.
Both call for a solid foundation, steady preparation, and the courage to bounce back. 🛡️
This 1st Battalion Scots Guardsman, elite taekwondo athlete, and now Serve and Protect Scholar was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. Refusing to let this stop him, he put his athletic grit towards recovery. Fast forward to today and he is reigning Army Sportsman of the Year, with sights set on the LA 2028 Olympics.
Thandor’s journey captures the essence of what we strive to build for the military and emergency service communities: a safety net that empowers members to face anything life throws their way. We are incredibly proud of Thandor for all he’s achieved and to work with him as a Serve and Protect Scholar. By helping to fund his Olympic dream, we are minimising financial barriers to give him space to focus on his career and training.
