Love, acceptance, and a whole lot of colour! 🏳️‍🌈

We transformed the office last week for a Pride-themed celebration, because creating an environment where everyone feels safe and supported starts with ensuring our own workplace reflects the diversity of the community we serve.

True inclusion is more than hanging bunting once a year. We ensure every colleague and member feels valued and respected each day.

Whilst this stands true, taking a proper moment to celebrate our team is important, too.
.. And there's no better way to round off a month than with an afternoon of food and - for the bravest colleagues - a spot of karaoke! 🎤

Fixed-rate and instant access: real long-term wealth means knowing that not all saving was created equal! 💰

Our CEO breaks down exactly how fixed-rate saving works, and why having both is the smartest move for your money.

A group photo Jon and Kristy’s recent visit to 160 Brigade Brecon, the central headquarters for all military personnel who serve in Wales. 🐉

160 Brigade holds a unique military history. It is justifiably proud of its heritage as the home of the 24th Regiment of Foot and their eight Victoria Crosses from the Battle of Rorke’s Drift.

Armed Forces Veteran and Partnerships Coordinator, Jon, and one of our Board members, Kristy, who works for Monmouthshire Building Society, joined Alesha, also from Monmouthshire Building Society, to talk to 160 Brigade as to how both organisations can best support the financial resilience of serving personnel, veterans, and their families across Wales.

Thank you to all involved, and we look forward to many more opportunities to support service personnel across Wales and their families in the months ahead! 🤝

The power of last month’s Memorial Stair Climb lies in the solidarity shown by firefighters around the world. Despite the heatwave conditions and the weight of full turnout gear, the crews brought unmatched energy, heart, and high spirits to the 110 floors they climbed at St Mary’s Stadium. 🚒🪜

As the climb’s Director Barnaby highlighted, funding from Friends of Serve and Protect enabled participants to build a sense of identity, providing commemorative merchandise as a finishing touch to an already remarkable occasion.

Watching these firefighters honour their colleagues was a real reminder of the human bonds that define the emergency services family. Another huge well done to everyone who showed such grit and made the day a success! 💪

💬 “Taking ten steps was more like climbing a mountain.”

Thandor Dlamini knows exactly what it means to fight back. Diagnosed with cancer in 2022, this Serve and Protect Scholar has shown incredible strength, not only to overcome his illness, but to return to his career and the taekwondo mat.

“Financial support was the beat that kept me moving.”

Proudly backed by the Serve and Protect Scholar Programme and with sights set on the 2028 Olympic Games, Thandor is now training harder than ever. His determination to push through barriers is a masterclass resilience - whether in sport or day-to-day life.

Living proof that no mountain is too high to climb! 🎥

On this day in 1990, Devon and Cornwall Constabulary Credit Union was founded with a mission much like our own: to ensure local policing staff and their families had a safe place to save and borrow. 🚓

In 2003, they joined forces with six other regional credit unions. This merger created the Police Credit Union, recognising that there is 'strength in numbers' when it comes to the emergency services sector.

But Devon and Cornwall Constabulary Credit Union's legacy lives on - through Serve and Protect!

Today, we are proud to support more than 18,000 serving police officers and staff across more than 35 forces. This would not have been possible without the foundations laid by DCCCU, so thank you to everyone who helped pave the way.🤝💙

More celebrations are due, because today marks 14 years since our launch with the prison and probation services.

We have now contributed to the wellbeing of prison officers, probation officers, and support staff at the HM Prison and Probation Service and Scottish Prison Service for more than a decade!🛡️

Our presence in this sector began in 2012, with the The POA and its late Deputy General Secretary, Joe Simpson, playing a key role in introducing payroll deduction and credit union services for HMPPS colleagues.

Our relationship with the POA laid the foundation for everything we do in the justice sector today. Ethical alternatives to high-cost credit and ongoing saving support has eased the financial pressures faced by those working in some of the most challenging - and all too often overlooked - environments.

Though the immense dedication of prison and probation staff happens largely outside of the public eye, their work is an essential pillar of the justice system. Our commitment to this hidden workforce has only strengthened since 2012!

➡️ To mark this milestone, we're sharing the difference that straightforward, reliable financial backing and a secure foundation has made. Hear this in our prison service members' own words:
