From the beginning of 2026, there will be a change to the reduced VAT rate in Finland:
🔹 The reduced VAT rate will decrease from 14% to 13.5% as of 1 January 2026
This applies to, among others:
food products
restaurant and catering services
accommodation services
medicines
books
passenger transport
sports and cultural services
🔸 The standard VAT rate remains 25.5%
🔸 The 10% reduced VAT rate remains unchanged
👉 Please note that the correct VAT rate is determined by the date of delivery of goods or performance of services. Special attention is needed for year-end invoicing and advance payments.

🚗 Driving for Work in Finland? 🇫🇮
Keep an Ajopäiväkirja (driving logbook) the right way — it’s required if you use your car for both business and personal trips!
📒 Your log must include:
📅 Date of each trip
📍 Start & end location
📝 Purpose of trip (e.g. client meeting)
🔢 Odometer readings (start & end)
📊 Kilometers for business vs. private use
🚘 Car details (make, model, reg. number)

✅ Tip: Fill it in right after each trip & keep it for 6 years — this is the only proof the tax office accepts for expense deductions.

🔸 General or Limited Partnership: From the date the partnership agreement is signed — or from when business activities begin if earlier.
