💡 What Does "Pay Yourself First" Actually Mean?
Most people pay everyone else first.
Mortgage.
Rent.
Utilities.
Groceries.
Subscriptions.
Then whatever is left over goes into savings.
The problem?
For many people, there isn't much left.
"Pay yourself first" means treating savings like a bill that must be paid.
Instead of saving what's left over, save first and spend what's left over.
Even setting aside 1–5% of your income can create a habit that grows over time.
The amount isn't what matters most.
Consistency is.
Small amounts saved regularly often outperform big savings goals that never get started.
**Saving money isn't about what's left over.**
It's about making yourself a priority.
