It’s sort of snuck up on me, but I am proud to mark my twentieth anniversary at BMO Nesbitt Burns. Professionally, twenty years is a long time to work anywhere, and I hope this moment represents hardly the halfway point of a career I feel fortunate to call my own.
Over two decades, I’ve worked in a family business as part of a wealth advisory business. I started back in 2006 and quickly realized the life altering work we do with families is their variety. Each family brings a unique perspective on life, chases different dreams, and describes a life well led differently.
Still, twenty years have taught me that we underestimate our commonality. Our aim at Pelegris Wealth Management is to help Good People do Great Things, because we’ve been fortunate to meet so many good people doing great things. In doing so, we’re also aware of the responsibility that these individuals must shoulder in the whirlwind that we call life. Between managing careers, to looking after family, to keeping an eye on retirement savings, we know responsibility can be large and time limited. Our aim in working together is to help bring a sense of clarity in at least one part of our extended families’ lives: finances. From building customized tax packages that ensure tax season is stress free, to looking around the corner at the risks that accompany aging, I’ve spent twenty years fixated on giving good people more of their time back so they can focus instead on doing truly great things.
To all our families and partners working with us: thank you, we don’t take your trust for granted. Making a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of our clients continues to guide the work we’re so privileged to do each day. If you feel like you could benefit from additional free time outside the whirlwind, or know someone who may be, I’d appreciate you forwarding this post to them or making an introduction.
Finally, if you have a similar story you would like to share, I would love to read about it in the replies below.
