Always good catching up with friends and peers who understand the ups and downs of running a business.

Jeff worked with me for 10 years before becoming an Agent himself about eight years ago, and Rich has been an Agent for around the same time.

We talked about the wins, the struggles, family, business and everything in between.

There’s a lot of value in sharing ideas, learning from each other and realizing we’re all figuring things out along the way.

🍫 Todd heard our concerns... and he delivered.

After our recent snack inspection revealed a serious shortage, a shipment arrived at the office filled with snacks. And as if that wasn't enough, Todd also treated the team to some delicious pastries from Terroir Artisan Bakery.

We're happy to officially report that the snack situation has been resolved. ✅

This one got pretty personal.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down for the Discovery Series: Unplugged podcast and talk about some things I don’t always talk about publicly.

We talked about growing up with my dad, his struggles with alcoholism and mental health, and losing him when he was only 59.

We also talked about Tara’s cancer journey and how going through something like that changes the way you look at life, family and especially time.

There was some insurance and business talk in there too, including how a decision my dad made to buy life insurance ended up having a huge impact on my own life.

But more than anything, this was a conversation about family, mental health, some of the tough stuff life throws at us, and realizing that we probably shouldn’t keep putting off the things and people that matter most.

A little more personal than my usual posts, but I’m glad we had the conversation.

If any part of it hits home for you, or you know someone who might benefit from hearing it, please share it with them.

Sometimes just knowing that other people have gone through difficult times can help. And if you or someone you care about is struggling, remember there is always help out there. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own.

🎨 Creativity starts with having the right tools.

We had the pleasure of delivering some much-needed art supplies to Kinbridge, thanks to for making it possible.

Kinbridge is an incredible organization that supports our community in so many ways. From summer programs for children and youth, to helping teens prepare for the workforce, to hosting weekly community dinners, they continue to create meaningful opportunities for connection, growth, and support.

We're grateful for the chance to contribute, even in a small way, to the important work they do every day.

For our last Cole Asks for a little while, we decided to switch things up and I asked Cole the question.

After spending the summer working with us, I asked him:

“What surprised you the most about working in the office?”

His answer was actually pretty cool to hear — how well the team works together.

Coming in, Cole thought we basically had two separate teams. A sales team that did their thing and a service team that did theirs.

What he saw over the summer was how much the two actually work together. Everyone has their own role and their own goals, but there’s a lot of crossover, a lot of helping each other out and ultimately everyone is working toward the same office goals.

As someone who has spent a lot of years trying to build that kind of team and culture, it was pretty nice to hear that was something he noticed.

And with that, Cole Asks is done for the summer!

It was a lot of fun having Cole in the office and getting his perspective on things. Thanks to everyone who followed along!

With Todd out of the office, some very important matters needed our attention.

🍫Rob and James conducted an emergency snack inspection.
Findings: We're out.

🪴Heather and Lauren ensured the office plants were receiving proper care.
Status: Happy, healthy, and thriving.

🖨Ashish, Jordan, and Felistus tackled the critical task of refilling the printer.
Achievement unlocked: Office heroes.

🏆Unscheduled Award Ceremony
With Todd away, the meeting agenda was immediately revised to include a team award presentation.

We're happy to report that everything is under control…for now.

This week on Cole Asks, Cole chats with Mom and Dad and asks:

“What’s the best advice you’d give a young adult going out on their own?”

My answer was pretty practical: learn how to budget.

We see it all the time. You get your first real job, money starts coming in, but so do rent, groceries, insurance, phone bills, car payments and everything else. Understanding where your money is going and learning how to manage it early can save a lot of stress later.

Tara’s advice was just as important: ask for help.

You’re not expected to know everything when you’re starting out. Find people you trust, ask questions and lean on those who have already been through it. Whether it’s money, work, relationships or just figuring life out, you don’t have to do it all by yourself.

Two pretty simple pieces of advice, but probably two of the most important.
