Another great community event in Hespeler Village this past weekend! 🎃🍬

Lots of little ghosts, goblins and superheroes were out collecting candy on Saturday afternoon as local businesses came together for a Halloween Candy Hunt!

A big thank you to the Melissa Francis Real Estate Team for organizing and sponsoring such a fun event for the community.

And a special thanks to my son Ryan and his buddy Chandler for representing our office and handing out candy to all the kids!

Always great seeing our village come together and so many families out enjoying themselves.

Surround yourself with people who challenge you to be better.

Great having my good friend and business partner Tony Johal join our team this morning!

We talked about first-time homebuyers, the challenges in today’s real estate market and how Tony continues to motivate himself and his team through it all.

One of the biggest takeaways? Attitude.

Hiring people with the right attitude, investing in coaching and surrounding yourself with people who think bigger and push you to keep growing.

No matter how successful you become, there’s always something to learn from others.

Lots of great questions, valuable insights and a few nuggets for everyone to take away!

Another episode of Cole Asks! 🎥

A little over a week ago, Cole and I were at the Rock Star Real Estate Your Life. Your Terms. event.

Cole asked me a great question: “Hey Dad, tell me a little more about Rock Star Real Estate and what ‘Your Life. Your Terms.’ really means.”

I’ve known Tom and Nick Karadza for close to 20 years, and I’ve watched them put in the hours, work hard, build a successful business and surround themselves with a great team.

And that’s really what it’s all about.

Putting in the work today to create the freedom to do the things you want to do, with the people you want to spend your time with.

Success isn’t just about building a great business. It’s about building a great life.

Who is this guy?! 👏

It’s hard to be laser focused on building your business without letting other parts of your life take a back seat, including your health. Finding the time and energy to give both the attention they deserve isn’t easy. It’s actually very hard.

This is my good friend and fellow Desjardins agent, Jeff Weadick, who has done exactly that over the past 12 months.

He’s made his health a priority while continuing to build his business, including a beautiful new office space in Waterloo. Both take commitment, consistency and a lot of hard work.

Jeff, I’m proud of what you’ve accomplished personally and professionally. Even better to see a good friend doing well and taking care of himself along the way.

Surround yourself with like-minded people.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting to Team Tony Johal, one of the top real estate teams in Canada.

My goal was simple. Share some insurance insights, ideas and tools that the team could keep in their back pocket to help them better serve their clients.

The real estate market has certainly had its challenges over the past few years, but what impresses me about Tony and his team is their ability to stay positive, keep learning and continue pushing forward, regardless of the circumstances.

Sometimes it’s just one little nugget of knowledge or a different perspective that can give you an edge. My hope is that everyone walked away with at least one idea they can put to use.

Tony is a high achiever, but what I respect most is his work ethic, attitude and commitment to getting better every day. He focuses on what he can control rather than dwelling on what he can’t.

I learned a long time ago that we become who we surround ourselves with. Spend time with positive, driven people who challenge you to be better, and some of that inevitably rubs off.

Proud to call Tony both a friend and a business partner.

Better Things in Action: Giving Back to Those Who Give Back

Our team had the opportunity to support our local food bank through our Better Things Initiative by treating their staff to a well-deserved pizza lunch!

The people who work behind the scenes at our community organizations play an important role in supporting local individuals and families. We wanted to take a moment to show our appreciation for the work they do every day.

We're grateful for the opportunity to give back and support the people who make a difference in our community.

Another great Your Life. Your Terms. event with the amazing team at Rock Star Real Estate this past weekend!

It was especially nice to have Cole join me for the day, with James from our office coming out a little later to help at our booth.

Always a fantastic opportunity to connect with new real estate investors, catch up with so many of our existing clients, and spend time with the Rock Star team.

We’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Rock Star Real Estate for close to 20 years, and it’s been incredible watching the community they’ve built around helping people take control of their financial future and truly live life on their terms.

❤️ Giving Back to Our Community!

Last week, our team was proud to donate $3,000 to the Cambridge Food Bank!

$2,000 of that donation came through our referral program, made possible by the amazing clients and business partners who continue to put their trust in us and refer their friends, family and colleagues.

The additional $1,000 came from Desjardins through their annual fall donation matching program.

A huge THANK YOU to all our clients and partners who help make our referral program such a success. Your support allows us to continue giving back to the community we are so fortunate to be part of.

And of course, thank you to the incredible staff and volunteers at the Cambridge Food Bank for everything you do to help individuals and families in our community. Your work makes a real difference! ❤️

A little friendly competition, one step at a time!

Our team has kicked off a step challenge! From October 8 to November 8, we’re split into teams of two, competing to see who can rack up the most steps. The winning team takes home a prize! 🏆

But it’s about more than just winning. We’re encouraging each other to get moving, build healthy habits, and make time for our mental and physical well-being.

Whether it’s a lunchtime walk, taking the stairs, or getting outside for some fresh air, every step counts!

Our challenge to you: Can you fit a little extra walking into your day? Take a walk with a coworker, a friend, or your favourite four-legged companion!

A little taste of Oktoberfest right here at the office! 🇩🇪

We celebrated with an Oktoberfest lunch on Friday! Todd took care of the Oktoberfest sausages, and Tara brought in authentic pretzels made locally. 🥨

We even watched the Oktoberfest celebrations in Germany while we ate, bringing a little German festivity to our workday!

Good food, great company, and a fun excuse to celebrate together. Prost!
