Some gifts carry a little more meaning than others.
In 2022, Chris's family experienced firsthand the incredible care provided by BC Children's Hospital. Earlier this month, for the fourth consecutive year, his children had the opportunity to give back by presenting a $5,000 donation to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation through the Raymond James Canada Foundation.
For their family, it was more than a donation. It was a chance to support an organization that had been there for them when they needed it.
It's also a great example of how Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) can help families be more intentional about their charitable giving.
A DAF allows you to make a charitable contribution today, receive the applicable tax receipt, and then recommend grants to the charities that matter most to you over time. It can be especially useful for people who have a significant charitable year, a large taxable event, or simply want to create a more organized long-term giving strategy.
Charitable giving can be incredibly personal, while keeping long term strategy in mind with foresight and planning.
