The wait is over. The Scale Venture Fund 1 has secured over $26 million in commitments, a monumental leap in our evolution from Australia’s first gender-lens angel syndicate to a pioneering VC fund. This milestone validates our core investment thesis: backing high-performing, women-led companies for top-quartile returns.
Our fund is positioned to capitalise on a significant arbitrage opportunity that exists because women-led teams consistently outperform yet remain severely underfunded. We are seizing this market inefficiency with support from incredible cornerstone investors like the Minderoo Foundation’s Strategic Impact Fund and the Carla Zampatti family, as well as other as well as other significant investors including the Thickins Family Office, founded by Celina Thickins and her husband Joel Thickins, head of private-equity firm TPG Asia.

It's finally here! 🙌


A long time coming, the celebrations for our Female Leaders VC Fund alongside Artesian were finally able to take place last night in Melbourne after a fair few reschedules and much determination!


Guests listened to empowering words from Catherine Robson (Scale), Sam Sicilia (HostPlus), Alexandra Clunies-Ross (Artesian), Mei Lee (Artesian) and Linda Trusler (Legal Super), and enjoyed plenty food and drink in Scale/Artesian's shared home in Richmond.


This launch event celebrated the official start of something truly special, and we cannot emphasise the excitement we share in the positive impact this fund has and will continue to have on closing the investment-gender gap.


Thank you to all who attended - it was fantastic to have so many of our Scale Angels, Portfolio Founders and guests in the one room!
