What makes this moment even more special is that this recognition comes just one year after being awarded Bankwest Newcomer of the Year 2025, making this achievement one we will never forget. 🥂

Last year, I posted that we’d make 2025 unforgettable — and it certainly was.

2025 has been a defining year in both my career and our personal investment journey. I want to sincerely thank our clients, both new and existing, for trusting us with your financial goals; our incredible BDMs who help keep everything moving smoothly; and the entire Mortgage Channel team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make it all happen.

This year marked our strongest performance in 10 years of mortgage broking, with a personal record $490.1 million settled across 1,001 loans. I was also humbled to be recognised across the industry with multiple nominations and awards, which I am deeply grateful for, including:

• #2 Residential Broker – The Adviser Elite Broker Rankings
• #4 Residential Broker – MPA Top 100 Brokers
• Commonwealth Bank Broker of the Year
• Bankwest Newcomer of the Year
• Finalist – Best Residential Broker, Better Business Awards

One of the highlights of the year was celebrating Mortgage Channel’s 10-year anniversary with our incredible team in Coron, Palawan. From world-class hospitality to jaw-dropping scenery, it was the perfect setting to celebrate a decade of growth, teamwork, and shared success.

On the property investing front, this has been Jo and I’s biggest year yet, surpassing the 100-property milestone. We are in the final stages of our multi-residential development in Logan, with most homes now handed over and leased. We also continued investing in multiple unit complexes across Sydney and Melbourne. I’m also so proud of my wife for managing our portfolio over the years and most recently extended her agency and property management services to friends and clients in Sydney.

Thank you again to everyone who has been part of the journey. We’re excited to make 2026 even bigger!

Michael had the pleasure of attending the annual Commonwealth Bank Platinum Broker Dinner last Thursday night. It's always a fantastic evening connecting with some of the industry’s top brokers and CBA’s leadership team.

A huge congratulations to Michael’s mentee, Taku Ekanayake from Kin Financial , for taking home the Newcomer of the Year Award! To top it off, Michael was honoured to be named Broker of the Year for the second consecutive year — a truly special moment and a privilege to achieve this back-to-back recognition from CBA. Thank you CBA!

What a memorable evening, made even better when shared with great people who make the journey so rewarding.

We had the pleasure of joining hundreds of brokers at The Calyx in Sydney’s stunning Royal Botanic Gardens on Thursday night for the 2025 Bankwest Broker of the Year Awards.

We're proud to share that Michael Xia was awarded Bankwest’s Newcomer of the Year for NSW! This award recognises the highest loan volume increase written by brokers new to Bankwest in FY24.

Huge thanks to Bankwest for the recognition, to our superstar BDM Dilis Law, and of course to the Mortgage Channel team, who keep everything running like clockwork behind the scenes.

I want to take a moment to thank you for being part of this journey with us in 2024. It’s easy to get caught up in what's next, but reflecting on the present and appreciating where we are is truly a gift.

2024 has been a year of growth and gratitude. We recorded the highest number of loans we've ever had, and won several awards, including being named in MPA's Top 100 Brokers, where we ranked #24 out of 21,000 brokers in Australia. We were also honored to be the winner of Commonwealth Bank’s Platinum Broker of the Year award. Platinum status is granted to select brokers and allows us to prioritise our clients, fast-track lending queues, and negotiate interest rates. Being recognised as the winner among all the Platinum achievers was a true honor. Additionally, we were named Loan Market Group Residential Broker of the Year Finalist, TheAdviser’s Top 25 Broker and Top 5 Brokers in the Loan Market Group.

We were also the most proactive with our own property acquisitions bringing our portfolio to over 80. We also completed our first subdivision in Logan with the build of 7 houses and 7 granny flats going under construction soon.
It was a pleasure seeing our clients strive towards achieving their property goals, especially those who achieve and then stretch it a bit further. We also had the pleasure of meeting and helping new clients.

I feel so accomplished, and honestly, more excited than ever for what’s ahead! Here’s to achieving more goals, property purchases, and most important of all, a happy and healthy 2025. Let’s make this year unforgettable!

During the podcast, he delves into how he successfully acquired 8 properties and generated $80K in passive income in just 7 months.

Michael was recently featured on the Pizza and Property Property Podcast with Todd Sloan to share his experience of building a 62 property portfolio.

During the interview, Michael provided insights into his investment journey, beginning in Sydney in 2012, and discussed his mindset at each stage of his journey. He also talked about the mistakes he made along the way and the valuable lessons he learned, as well as how he scaled his portfolio so aggressively and his advice for other property investors.

Well, 2023 had its challenges. Interest rates continued to increase, impacting serviceability and affordability for many, but with incredible consistency and hard work from the entire team, we have again been recognised as one of the leading Brokers in Australia.

As we welcome the year 2024, we're incredibly proud to have once again been recognised as one of the Top 100 Mortgage Brokers in Australia by MPA, a nominated finalist for Best Residential Broker by TheAdviser's Better Business Awards and was awarded Sole Broker of the Year by Loan Market Group.

A big thank you to the Mortgage Channel Team for your hard work and dedication to providing the best possible service, and most importantly, to our friends and clients for your unwavering support.
