Two brokers. One sign. And apparently… zero idea what to write. 😂

Cooper and Carissa may have drawn a blank when it came to the sign, but thankfully they’re a little more switched on when it comes to insurance.

There are risks to understand, policies to review, claims to navigate and clients to look after. Plenty to keep the ARMA Insurance Brokers Goulburn team busy.

Coming up with something clever for a photo? Clearly not their strongest area. 😂

They say you can’t buy happiness… but you can buy cake, and we reckon that’s pretty close. 🧁☕

Cooper recently caught up with Shardae from Cake Me Up, one of our ARMA Insurance Brokers Goulburn clients and a great little business right in the main street of Crookwell.

Cakemeup is the kind of place where you might walk in planning to grab a coffee and somehow walk out with a cupcake, slice of cake and something else you definitely didn’t need but absolutely deserved.

We love working with local businesses like Shardae’s and having an excuse to drop in and say hello every now and then.

Although looking at Cooper, we’re not entirely convinced he needs any more cake…

Then again, there’s always room for cake. 😂🍰

Earlier this week, we shared the story of a child who decided to help Mum and Dad wash the family car… with sandpaper.

Well, here's another insurance claim that proves you really can't predict what might happen.

An elderly Australian woman accidentally drove through the garage door, continued through the living room and hit the family's camper trailer with enough force to push it into the septic tank.

If that wasn't enough, the carport came down as well.

And her husband? Apparently, he was watching TV at the back of the house and didn't initially realise what had happened.

It's another rather extreme reminder that the unexpected has a habit of happening when you least expect it.

At ARMA Insurance Brokers, that's why we believe insurance isn't just about having a policy sitting in a drawer. It's about having the right cover and a broker you can call when something goes spectacularly off script.

Although in this case, the first conversation might have been with the husband.

When the kids offer to wash the car… maybe ask how first.

In one of the more unusual insurance claims, a child decided to help Mum and Dad by washing the family car.

Very thoughtful. There was just one small problem...they used sandpaper.

The car was certainly cleaner. The paintwork, unfortunately, had seen better days.

It might be an extreme example, but it’s also a reminder that insurance claims don’t always happen the way you expect. Sometimes it’s an accident, sometimes it’s bad luck and sometimes it’s a very enthusiastic child with good intentions and the wrong cleaning equipment.

That’s why at ARMA Insurance Brokers, we believe good insurance is about more than having a policy. It’s about having someone who understands your cover and is there to help when the unexpected happens.

And if the kids offer to wash the car this weekend, perhaps hide the sandpaper first.

We love this photo of Carissa from 2024 when she successfully completed her Tier 2 General Insurance qualification.

It was a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the professionalism and commitment she brings to her role every day. Gaining industry qualifications takes dedication, and we're incredibly proud of what she accomplished.

However, after careful consideration, we believe her greatest achievement may have been something else entirely...working alongside Cooper.

While the insurance industry has policies for many different risks, we're yet to find one that provides cover for relentless dad jokes, terrible puns and stories that somehow improve in Cooper's memory every time they're retold.

If such a policy exists, Carissa has certainly earned a premium discount.

In all seriousness, Carissa is a valued member of the ARMA Insurance Brokers Goulburn team and someone our clients and colleagues enjoy working with. Her knowledge, professionalism and positive attitude make a real difference every day.

Last week, we posted that Cooper was looking for a new golfing partner for the Goulburn Invitational Charity Golf Day.

Surprise, surprise... no one has come forward.

Things have now reached the point where Cooper is apparently offering $20,000 to anyone willing to join him on the course.

Before anyone rushes to nominate, we should probably clarify that the photo is actually from when we were offering $20,000 for Hole in One at last year's Goulburn Invitational Charity Golf Day.

So unfortunately, the money isn't for putting up with Cooper's golf commentary, questionable club selection or enthusiastic advice on how everyone else should play.

That said, the offer to join him for a great day supporting a fantastic local cause still stands.

The Goulburn Invitational Charity Golf Day continues to be one of the region's great community events, bringing local businesses and community members together while raising valuable funds for charity.

If you're interested in joining Cooper on the fairways, now is your chance. The $20,000 may not be up for grabs, but a good day out certainly

Last week, we discovered there was some debate over whether Cooper could actually fish after our visit to Fish N Shoot Tackleworld... 🎣😂

Now we've got another question... can Cooper play golf? ⛳

After proudly supporting last year's Goulburn Invitational Charity Golf Day, we're thinking it might be time to put his golfing skills to the test.

Whatever the scorecard says, we're always proud to support events that bring the Goulburn community together while raising funds for great local causes. They're a reminder that strong communities are built through local businesses, volunteers and people who are willing to get involved.

With Leigh recently departing our Goulburn office, Cooper also finds himself without a regular golf partner. Applications are now open for anyone willing to step into the role. Requirements include a reasonable golf swing, a good sense of humour and the ability to tolerate discussions about insurance between holes. ⛳😉

Business development... or fishing reconnaissance? 🎣

Cooper recently caught up with Josh from Fish N Shoot Tackleworld while out visiting local businesses.

Now, Josh clearly knows his way around a fishing rod. Cooper, on the other hand... we're still gathering evidence. 😄 There are rumours he owns fishing gear, but nobody can confirm if he's ever actually caught anything bigger than a snag.
