Things you can still do under the proposed budget:
- Convert your existing owner occupied property (purchased pre 12th May 2026) into an investment property & still take advantage of negative gearing
- Claim a Capital Gains Exemption on your main residence. No tax is better than a discount!
- 6 Year Rule - this is a great incentive & one I’ve use before! This does require advice from an accountant when you own multiple properties as claiming this exemption on one property, may impact your ability to claim it on another property. This is why seeking advice from professionals prior to making these decisions is vital so you don’t cost yourself thousands of dollars 💸

The flaw with Comprehensive Credit Reporting when it comes to late repayments is the lack of knowledge & information provided to not only the consumer, but the employees working at financial institutions.
