We’re seeing news of proposed changes to the NDIS aimed at tightening eligibility and reducing overall participant numbers.

We know many of our clients and followers operate within the NDIS, so we wanted to share this early so you’re aware of what’s being discussed.

Recent reporting from the ABC notes the government is looking at introducing new eligibility assessments and changes aimed at slowing the scheme’s growth.

From what’s been reported so far, the proposed changes may include:
• Stricter access requirements for new participants
• Increased reassessments for existing participants
• A shift toward “foundational supports” outside the NDIS
• Greater scrutiny on funding and provider activity

At this stage, these are proposed changes only, and there’s still a lot to be clarified around timing and how this would actually play out.
