What makes you feel connected to your community? 💡

Social Connection and Wellbeing is one of our strategic impact areas — supporting programs that create belonging, reduce isolation, build trust and bring people together.

In our 2025 Spring Grant Round, Young Voices of Macedon received funding to update their website so more people can discover their musical education programs.

As President Dianne Gome explains, music helps people of all ages, especially children, build confidence and develop "memory and learning skills, stronger mathematical and logical thinking, language and literacy development, emotional expression and self-regulation, improved social skills and teamwork..."

🌟 Celebrating 20 Years of Service – Jacqueline Beale 🌟

Today we’re celebrating our Customer Service Officer, Jacqui, who has officially reached 20 years of service with Bendigo Bank 🎉

Jacqui began her journey at Bendigo Bank in Sunbury, and for the past four years we’ve been incredibly lucky to have her as part of our team. A Gisborne local, Jacqui loves helping our customers and being part of a branch that gives back to her community.

Outside the branch, Jacqui treasures spending time with her family - including, most recently, cheering on her daughter Madison at the 2026 BMX World Championships!

🌟 Community Spotlight: Madison Beale! 🌟

We’re kicking off a new series of community member spotlights with someone special — Madison Beale, a Gisborne local whose determination and courage have taken her all the way to the 2026 BMX World Championships!

After six years cheering from the sidelines while her brother raced, Madison decided it was her turn. In January this year, she jumped on her bike and committed herself to training five days a week — and that dedication paid off 👊

Representing Australia on the world stage, Madison raced her heart out with one simple goal: don’t come last. Not only did she achieve that, she placed 54th out of 64 riders in the 14‑year‑old girls category, competing against athletes from Japan, France, Zimbabwe, Colombia and beyond. Along the way, she formed friendships she’ll treasure for life.

And of course, we can’t share Madison’s story without mentioning her mum, our very own Jacqueline Beale, Customer Service Officer at Community Bank Gisborne & District. A very proud mum, and rightly so! Keep going Madison — what an achievement! 🚴‍♀️✨

🌱 Spring Grant Round opens Tuesday 1 September!

We’re excited to announce that applications for our 2026 Spring Grants and Sponsorships Round will open this coming Tuesday and close on Wednesday 30 September.

We offer grants that strengthen community groups and support social connection and wellbeing across youth, sport/recreation, the arts, the environment and more. We also offer sponsorships that help grow our customer base — from local clubs to festivals and community events.

Thinking of applying and have questions? Come and “Chat with Kat”, our Community Engagement Lead, on Wednesday 2 September. Choose what suits you:

Collective $8.5M milestone for local Community Banks!

We’re incredibly proud to share that, with Community Bank Lancefield and Romsey and Community Bank Trentham & Districts, we have surpassed a collective $8.5 million in giving across the Macedon Ranges.

For 25 years, the Community Bank branches in Lancefield, Romsey, Trentham and Gisborne have been putting profits back where they belong — supporting the clubs, schools, sporting groups, community organisations and local initiatives that help our region thrive.

Our Spring Grant Round opens on 1 September and one of our Strategic Impact areas is: Social connection and wellbeing.

We invest in programs and initiatives that foster a sense of belonging, reduce social isolation and enhance overall wellbeing. We prioritise activities that bring people together, build trust and strengthen community cohesion.

In our Autumn Grant Round, Gisborne Masters FC received funds to support the club, which not only provides active involvement in competitive sport for mature-aged men, but also social interaction and support.

Cameron Gamble, Club President said, “The support provided to Gisborne Masters by Community Bank Gisborne & District over many years has been fantastic. We really appreciate everything you do for the community.”
