🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨
The Reserve Bank of Australia has increased interest rates again.
A quick reminder: 👉 The RBA is independent of the Government and really only has one main lever to pull interest rates.
But here’s the reality:
Only ~30% of Australians have a mortgage
Yet rate rises are being used to slow inflation.

Right now, inflation in Australia is being driven mainly by:
🏠 Housing & rents
🛡️ Insurance
⚡ Electricity & energy
⛽ Fuel
🧑‍🔧 Everyday services
Many of these are supply-driven costs, not people overspending.

So while mortgage holders wear the pressure, interest rate rises alone can’t fix supply-driven inflation.

The bigger tools to bring inflation down sit with government policy hopefully we start seeing more action there soon 🙏
All eyes on the Federal Budget next week 👀
