Sometimes the best business conversations have nothing to do with the numbers.
Today’s catch-up with J. was a perfect example of the power of On Call Consulting.
We’ve worked together for two years, and I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow a successful business. Like every small business, there have been challenges along the way — but one thing we’ve worked hard to avoid is cashflow stress.
Her money systems are in place. Every bank account has a purpose. Taxes are covered. Future expenses can be planned for. And most importantly, she has the flexibility and freedom to make choices rather than constantly react to what’s happening.
At our last catch-up, J. raised the idea of forming a partnership with some of her hairdressing colleagues.
So today, rather than jumping straight into the how, we started with the why.
Why do you want this?
Is it really what you want?
Or is it a bandaid fix for something else?
We questioned, brainstormed and dug a little deeper.
And then it became clear.
It wasn’t really about the partnership.
It was about TIME.
More time for herself.
More opportunities to take breaks.
More support around her.
A team she can rely on.
And ultimately, creating a successful business that gives her more freedom — not one that owns all of her time.
And this is why I love what I do.
Sometimes a client’s question makes me stop, think and dig deeper too. And together, we find the solution that can actually create change.
J. sent me this message afterwards:
"I always feel calm after time with you. I always have clarity and can see how things work without the stress."
Then came the best part…
"Book me in again for 4 weeks." ❤️
That’s the power of having someone in your corner who isn’t just looking at your numbers — but asking the questions that help you see the bigger picture.
