As the Ideas Festival comes to a close, we celebrate a week of thought-provoking conversations, knowledge sharing, new connections and opportunities for Zimbabwe’s entrepreneurs to learn, grow and showcase their innovations.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Trevor Ncube for creating the platform and bringing together the people, ideas and opportunities that made this festival possible.

One of the highlights was recognising startups whose ideas and work continue to push boundaries through the Startup Awards.

Making a difference beyond the Old Mutual Vumba Mountain Run

While in Mutare for the , we also had the opportunity to officially commission the refurbished maternity ward and hand over medical equipments at Sakubva District Hospital, supporting better care for mothers and newborns.

The handover was led by our Old Mutual Life Assurance Managing Director, Rutendo Magorimbo, with the Guest of Honour, Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, in attendance.

The donation, included:
- 20 hospital beds
- 5 patient monitoring BP machines
- 2 stretcher beds
- 100 bedspreads
- 20 pillows
- 2 three-seater airport benches
- 200 blankets to support those in need.

Our commitment to the communities we serve goes beyond the finish line. It’s about showing up, making a difference and helping build healthier communities.

Beyond accessing new markets, there is an opportunity to share expertise, develop talent, commercialise research and build solutions together.

As part of the Zimbabwe–India–Africa Tech & Entrepreneurship Summit 2026, Eight2Five Innovation Hub will host the India–Africa Human Capacity Corridor Design Thinking Workshop this Friday, exploring pathways across skills development, research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

We welcome perspectives from educators, employers, researchers, technology professionals and entrepreneurship ecosystem builders.

Our VCC6 Top 5 startups joined this year’s Ideas Festival for conversations on what it takes to build, grow and scale a business.

The discussions explored practical lessons for founders: start from where you are, prioritise what matters, invest in yourself and build the discipline required to grow. Other conversations unpacked the four R’s of scaling, breaking down silos to create an enterprise-wide perspective, and leveraging shared service centres to support business growth.

Beyond the conversations, our founders also had the opportunity to pitch, putting their ideas and ambitions in the spotlight.

At Eight2Five Innovation Hub, we believe that building successful ventures takes the right knowledge, networks and opportunities to turn potential into progress.

It grows through the exchange of ideas, access to new knowledge, partnerships and conversations that help businesses see beyond their immediate environment.

Tomorrow, Eight2Five Innovation Hub joins the Zimbabwe–India–Africa Tech & Entrepreneurship Summit 2026 in Harare, where technology, entrepreneurship and investment take centre stage.
