Happy Workers Day ⚒️
Today is about more than just a well-deserved break from the grind,
it's an opportunity to zoom out.
We often get so caught up in the "how" of our daily tasks
that we lose sight of the "Why"

Take a moment today to reflect on the purpose behind your hard work.
Is it for Family?
Growth?
Impact?
when your Why is clear, the work becomes part of a much bigger adventure.

Enjoy the rest and the reflection

Did you catch my interview Last week? 🎙️
We had such a great chat about how to make your hard-earned Rands work as hard as you do!
One of my favourite parts of the interview was discussing Stokvels and Cattle.
These are incredible community tools,
but the magic happens when we combine that tradition with formal financial tools to protect and grow your legacy.
Key takeaways for you:
✅ Start Small: Consistency beats intensity every time.
✅ Check the Red Flags: If it sounds too good to be true (like 10% returns a month), walk away! ✅ Play the Long Game: Think of your investments like a garden—give them time to grow.

Financial freedom is the ultimate adventure.
Whether you are just starting your first job or looking to diversify,
the best time to start was yesterday. The second-best time is today.

Recently I had the opportunity to speak on radio about something that so many people are quietly navigating…
Being part of the “sandwich generation.”

That space where you’re:
👶 Raising children
👵 Supporting parents
💼 And still trying to manage your own life and future
It’s a lot.

And what I’ve seen is this:
most people aren’t doing anything wrong.
They’re just trying to prioritise everything at once.
And that’s where the pressure builds.

The real shift comes from asking:
✔ What actually needs to come first?
✔ What should I protect before anything else?
✔ How do I support others without neglecting myself?

Because looking after everyone else
shouldn’t come at the cost of your own future.

Weathering the Storm (Literally and Figuratively)

I hope everyone had a peaceful Easter weekend! 🐣

It was a bit of a wild end to the holiday here in Durban. We had a massive storm on Sunday, and I woke up to find a neighbor’s tree had come down right in my yard. Luckily, no major damage, just a lot of clearing to do!

Standing there looking at the mess, it hit me:
this is exactly how many of us feel when we look at the global news right now.
It feels like we are in the "middle of the storm," where it’s hard to see the clear skies ahead.

In my work as a financial advisor,
I often tell my clients that the middle of the storm is the worst time to change course.

If we look at history:
The market often dips initially during conflict (e.g., -10.6% during the Vietnam War).
But, in 63% of cases, the market is back in the green within 6 months.

The lesson?
Sometimes the bravest thing you can do for your portfolio (and your business) is to stay the course and wait for the weather to break.

Stay safe and stay focused!

What an inspiring morning yesterday at the studio! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who tuned in to Adventist Radio this morning.
We talked about a topic that sits close to the heart
for so many of us: The Sandwich Generation.

I shared that being "caught in the middle" isn't a failure
it’s a testament to your love for your family.
But love needs a plan.

We discussed:

How to have "the talk" with parents respectfully.

Using the tax man’s help (like medical credits) to ease the burden.

Teaching our kids to be the generation that breaks the cycle.

My mission is to make money conversations simple.
If you’re feeling the pressure today,
remember:
a small 1% change can give you the room to breathe again.

Feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat about your own family "map"! 🗺️

Caught in the middle? You aren't alone. ❤️

Between rising school fees for the kids and
medical costs for our parents,
many of us feel like we’re being pulled in every direction.
But "too many expenses" doesn't have to mean "no hope."

Join me TODAY at 8:15 AM on Adventist Radio
as we talk about the "Sandwich Generation."

I’ll be sharing practical,
simple strategies
to help you breathe again and protect your family's future.

Your R1,000,000 isn’t what it used to be. 📉
We all know the cost of living in SA is rising.
From the grocery basket to the petrol pump,
inflation is hungry.
But did you know it’s also eating your savings?

Many of my clients come to me with funds sitting in "top-tier" bank accounts,
thinking they’re doing the right thing by staying conservative.

Here is the reality check:
• Bank Savings: Often provides just enough to keep your head above water.
• Income Funds: Strategically uses bonds, cash, and preference shares to give you a "buffer" above inflation.

On a R1,000,000 investment, that 2% or 3% difference
isn't just a number, it’s the difference between
your money staying the same and your money actually growing its purchasing power.

If you haven't looked at your "lazy" cash in the last six months,
you’re likely leaving money on the table (and giving it to the taxman).

Send me a message if you’d like to see a side-by-side comparison
of what your bank is giving you versus what a structured Income Fund could be doing.

It feels like every time we check the news lately,
it’s "bad news" about fuel or global markets.

📉 But I wanted to share a massive silver lining with you all this week!

Stats SA just released the latest numbers,
and South African inflation has officially hit the 3% target.
🎯 This is a huge win for our local economy
and a sign of real resilience.
Even with everything happening globally,
our "ship" is proving to be much stronger than the headlines suggest.

Let's take a breath and focus on the wins we do have.

Wishing you all a positive, productive week!
How are you "adjusting your sails" this month?

Most of you know me as a Financial Advisor, but very few know how I actually started. 💼

Before the decade I’ve spent in finance,
I was a young Managing Director tasked
with restructuring a failing company.
I learned more about "risk" in those three years
than most people learn in a lifetime.
I saw firsthand what happens when documentation fails
and cash flow tightens.

I "fell" into financial planning thinking I’d stay for a year.
Ten years later, I’m still here.
Why?

Because I realized that business owners and adventurous families are often "invisible" to this industry.
They are sold complex products they don't understand by advisors they only hear from when the market crashes.

I decided to be the "unique choice": the $2 bill. 💵

🎓 The Undercover Academic:
I love to teach and simplify the "scary" stuff.

📈 The Strategist:
I treat your portfolio with the same grit I used to turn around a business.

🚜 The Navigator:
I’m the one prepping the 4x4 before we hit the mud,
calling you before the storm hits.

If you’re looking for someone to just "manage wealth," there are thousands of us.
But if you want a partner who simplifies the noise so you can get back to the adventure,
let’s chat. ☕️
