Hollard Insure acquired Equipage in 2019, and we’ve recently rebranded to reflect that: we are now Hollard Equipage, complete with a new home (
at the Hollard offices in Parktown, Johannesburg) and logo. We’ve always had a great connection, with Hollard Insure underwriting Equipage’s innovative insurance products since its establishment in 1996. But now we’re one team, united under one brand and with a great new look. Joining the Hollard stable means great things for Equipage, which now has the full backing and carries the name of South Africa’s biggest independent insurance company – and that translates to better insurance products for, and service to, the equine community than ever before. There’s an equine term that’s appropriate to the creation of Hollard Equipage: “bred in the purple.” A horse that has great bloodlines on both sides is said to be bred in the purple – which, considering that that’s also Hollard’s principal corporate colour, is most apt! And they are impressive bloodlines: Equipage is a leader in the equine insurance space, and Hollard, which is in its 40th anniversary year, has been included in the 2020 BrandZ Top 30 Most Valuable South African Brands.
